Do you put vids it on CD's or DVD's? I am really sick of burning all the vids from the net on CD's and realizing that I will NEVER watch it again probably except of few of them :? But wich ones will be I will want to watch? Its HARD to decide what to keep in PC and what just delete, and I am not talking about trash vids but great vids you all have in your PC :P :|

In those days when net connenction is SO fast its a metter of few days to fill your HD full of vids and I am talking about car vids ONLY ofcourse :D)

What do you do? Burn, delete or just keep best on HD? What is your criteria when you choose?

Well it is true that I don't really download everything. But what I download, watch and keep in my PC, is always burned sooner or later. That's what I meant :)

And yes, that MC12 was a nice surprise (UK registered BTW)

I save all the best ones to dvd.. basicaly as long as the quality is decent and it isn't a load of shite (ricer burnouts etc) then it gets put on dvd's at some point

I keep my favourite videos that I like to watch most often on my laptop HD for quick access. Then the rest of them are either burnt to CD or stored on my external 110GB HD.

I have a 200gb HD, so most of the vids I don't watch that often (last years top gear and so on) I burn to DVD and keep in folders

I am going back through my piles of data DVD's and creating Movie DVD's with menus and chapters etc.

Makes it really easy to sahre with others.

But be sure to not accidently include some hard core porn as chapter 3 between 2 Top gear episodes and a Best Motoring Hot Version :P

;)

That one is a little difficult to explain away when relatives come over and you are trying to "show off" you unique collection of car videos to a brother-in-law and the wives are all at the other end of the living room....

I never watched any of the videos I download twice. I burn them all to DVD, but only the decent long ones, like BM, TOP GEAR high res features, and stuff like that, NS laps etc,,,,I dont really burn any of 2min clips.

Actually what am I saying, 70% of the videos I download I never even watch, they go straight to DVD-R, only Top Gear I sit down to watch, most BM stuff I never even have the time to

So basicly Im filling up shoe boxes with CDs that I dont know the content of because I label them all "car vids".

well important stuff gets both burned to DVD and stored on an external 300gb drive. recent stuff may stay on my comp for a few months like I will keep the enitre series of Top Gear until it's over then transfer them all over. actually I just did that for 5th gear.

well, last half year I download full episodes of 5th and TopGear (not just tests..), so I burn them on normal CDs. I've heard that DVDs are not that dependable, compared to CDs :? , that some of them after some time stops working  .... NOOO  . so where is the truth guys??? THX

its all bullshit, same myth was around the CDR time, I have CDRs over 5 years old and they are still fine, and they were supposed to "stop working" in 3......its all bullshit and its no different with DVDs.

I burn even small vids but I have all in different in folders like "ferrari", "lambos", "bmw" and so on and them "british", "japanese" etc cause there is not many of them 8) When folder is about 700mb I burn it but problem is that they dont fill so fast and take lots of space :?

but now I ask myself - "will you watch it again?" if answer is NO - get the f*ck out!

Basically the only car vids I keep on my HDD are Top gear episodes and Aston maasrtin related material, as I oonly have a 40GB drive. I will be updating my comp soon and will be getting a DVD writer and a 160GB+ hard drive, so that should sort out the problem with the lack of space :D

Only somewhat.. they do die over time, but it all depends on the cd/dvd... I wouldnt take the chance over about 5 years..

I do both a external hd and dvd.

use a program like "where is it?" i use that to keep track whats on each dvd. its quick too. takes 5s to complete each disc.

I'm an idiot when it comes to burning stuff. I always wait untill I'm damn near out of space (100GB), then I'll burn just enough so that I won't have to do it for a couple months!
