The place I went to was called Jack London Square. It is right by the Oakland Port (--> see the right side of the second picture). There was a container ship being loaded when I was there

Thanks for the pics Sameerrao, firework displays are always tricky to take photos
of, but you have got some great shots here.

By the way, what was the container ship being loaded with? Tea? :lol:

nice pictures, altough the smoke is distrurbing the colors a little
The scenery with the boat in front is well selected :D

Wish Id taken my camera on my vacation. I ended up landing on sunday nite around 10 pm... Watched a huge amount of fireworks from the air.. One of the Coolest things I've ever seen.

LOL! No that would require a pretty small dingy considering the paucity of tea drinkers in the states. :)

Haha, I lived here and I did not even go there. I went to San Francisco for the Fireworks.

I went to San Fran in 2000 for the New Years firework. That was stunning. I hadnt been to Oakland before (always use to pass thru it headed elsewhere). I made it a point to go here this time and not SFO ....
