Not bad for a Ford... :P
Funny you mention it.
Koeniggsegg got the question:
Q: What is the weakest part of this car?
A: That everyone think its a Ford engine. But the truth is that we buy the racing engine from an italian company called Ford. But we do a lot of changes, 90% of the engine are modifications done by us.
(PS, It was in another language, Im just translating it into english, so make your own conclusions)

This lap time show tremendous potential and is already class leading. The Koenigsegg Team will be back on the Ring within short for further trials. "
It will be interesting to see them at the Ring again :D

Anyone know who the driver was. I'm sure if mr Rohrl was driving it the time would be around the CGT's, if not faster. Its only 7 seconds off at present

looking at the pics i think i can see HvS with the red polo shirt, and we know that HvS did the Supertest with the CCR, some of my friends were present there at NS, so i believe the time is the Supertest lap time so done by HvS....
could be wrong though...

That is very impressive coming from a car that seemed to be designed more around straight line speed than huge grip levels. I wonder what top speed it hit?

nice time, but i think it can make a better lap time, 7 seconds behind cgt, is to much

yep, that thing should be capable of lapping much more quickly with proper setup. if i recall the Koenigsegg's dampers are fully adjustable by customers right? either way, the 800hp should be more than enough to make up time on the CGT during the long straight-ish sections

Onboard video of this lap anyone?!?!
That would be great and I hope they will put cameras in and out of the car next time they go laping around the circuit, like when they've beat the top speed record.

How the fuck could Walther Rohrl be almost 4 seconds slower than Von Saurma. I think Von Saurma had slick tyres or something.

No slicks for Saurma. first time Saurma drove CGT the time was 7.40 min on a wet rroad, a couple of weeks later he tried again on dry surface and got the time 7.32 min.

Everything is fully adjustable :P The suspension, brake bias etc. Open up the back end and you can manipulate the settings by hand.
