View Full Version : Conspiracy Theory - Did We Land On The Moon?

Skeptics analyze the discrepancies and inconsistencies in the evidence that men landed on the moon in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their conclusion: NASA faked the moon landings! Evidence of deception includes: the physical problems inherent in rocket control; the lack of a blast crater under the LM descent engine; the lack of stars in the lunar sky; discrepancies and similarities in the shadows and backgrounds of moon photos; flag waving on an airless moon; and the presence of deadly radiation in interplanetary space. The skeptics contend that astronauts have never flown beyond the Van Allen radiation belt.

link does indeed work.
Since it's a big file you will have to wait until megaupload sends you the download prompt. Hang tight, it takes a little bit.

There were no stars in the pictures because the camera had to be set up for brightness...seeing as the space suit is white and the sun is behind the astronaut...thus the camera setup prevented the stars from being seen
There is no blast crater because when the astronauts were landing they, shock, eased off the throttle....
The shadows are inconsistent because the sun is NOT the only source of light on the moon, as the moon itself is reflective...
The flag was waving because the astronauts were screwing it into the ground....and because flags deployed on space missions have a crinkle in them to look better.
The Van Allen belt does indeed exist, trapping radioactive particles, but a person would only get a lethal dose if they stayed there for an extended period of time. You can read the biomedical report here (http://lsda.jsc.nasa.gov/books/apollo/S2ch3.htm)
anything else?

If it was a hoax why didnt Russia or China report it as a hoax? Even if America was trying to create a hoax, wouldnt there biggest enemies(coldwar etc) at the time say anything? Esp Russia who was having a space race with them.
Because they got the same radio signals from the space craft as everyone else on the planet they accepted it
Also this is nothing new. check out nasa's website http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2001/ast23feb_2.htm

Conspiracy theory's are mostly bullshit why can't some people agreed whit the real true and not some shit theory thats fiction than fact and sometimes sound a bit to star trek to me.
Btw when i was younger than now i used to believe in aliens ufo and other fake bs now that i am older i don't believe in it anymore.
Their was no hard proof found many the so called conspiracy theory and other fake stuff.
 Conspiracy Theory
And why are it always the american's who come forward whit this star trek stuff.

i dont know if they ever been to the moon but all the this the critics say looks weird just isnt!
there is this picture with the flag for exemple, there is nothing wrong with the flag! its a stick in it so that it doesnt just hang straight down, anyone can see that, and then they say that it looks like its moving as if it was air, but please! it move just because the ISNT any air! there is noting to stop it from moving ones it starts when they put it up!
so that could just as well be a proof of them BEING on the moon more then that they arent!
and the Q about the stars have already been given a good explanation.
i mean try taking a pics of stars at NIGHT here on earth using the same exposion time as if it was bright outside ( as it was on the moon! VERY bright even ) and you will not see a single star! and the stars are even to small to be seen on the pics to!
and about the landing, since the moon has no air and very little gravity, the landing would have been very slow and therefor not much debris = no real "crater" by the craft!
I guess the the sceptisism comes from the fact that people just can imagine how it could be done and since they cant see it with there own eyes, it has to, just like aliens and santa claus, be untrue.
but as with everything else, all facts comes from somebody! we just have too deside who to believe! i mean most of the things we know, we dont really KNOW!
is the world really round? how do you know? Oh, you read it in a book... and who wrote that book then? can you trust him? why would you trust him?
everything can be questioned!
you just have to choose what YOU believe!

Can't you see the rover left up there on the moon with a good telescope?

not really, it's much too small.
There's a good explanation here (http://curious.astro.cornell.edu/question.php?number=134)

I think what actually happened is they went there, but not everything happened as they showed.
