BMW M5 (Alpina B5 version)
BMW M6
Ferrari F430
Ferrari F430 Spider
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
Aston Martin Vanquish S
the new Jaguar XKR with the camo on still, looks very similar to the ALC concept
Noble M14
TVR Tuscan 2
Pagani Zonda 7.3
Lamborghini Murcielago
Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster
Spyker C8 Spyder

and more, but this is just what I can remember right now, because I didnt stay long in that location, so I missed a few others while I was moving to a better place... and then they finished those cars running :(

Love the pics

A gorgeous Muira 8) , the racing beemers and the Stratos were my favourites

Not really a fan of all the Porsche (and other LMP) racing cars, and know very little about them, but that sure was a fine line up of historic racers :D

Cheers for the pics mate

thanks for the pictures dude, guess the dbr9 was the biggest boom there

the nissan u asked about it a LM edition of the nissan R390, its a big car i don't know much about what did it mark on the sarthe track, the audi u asked about is a version of the LM Audi R8 which won the last LM titel and 3 other before the last year. the blue porsche u posted yeah it is famous actually very very famous, its called the porsche 917 and it was seen for the first time in the late 60s .. the F.I.A. modifies the regulations of the Sport category, allowing 5- litre powered vehicles.
Porsche, which until that moment had been competing with itīs 904, 907 and 908 models, decides to design and build a new prototype that would make the most of the new regulations. It would be called 917, and it was a hero..

Amazing pictures of an amazing event, THANKS!!. It's a shame I couldn't go this year....

Was the rally-stage something special or nothing compair to the hillclimb?

The blue porsche could be even more famous than you thought, I.M.O it is the Steve MQueen Le mans (the movie) car. Last year this car was at the FOS too.

edit:
I just watched our pics of last year and one of my friends even took a picture of the card:

redbaron, you posted while i was typing my other reply :P
In answer to your question about the rally stage, I am passionate about rallying and the cars, and it was truely magnificant to see all the cars there, but the stage was a bit boring really, obviously watching the cars was good fun, but it was quite slow, if you go to a WRC you expect a 2 min wait between the top runners, and 1 min wait for the lower runners, but here it was like 5 minute wait or longer (although you see the car twice as it turns round and comes back), and because there is so much else to see you dont want to spend the time, so i just looked at the cars in the paddock instead, although its a really nice idea, and if you wanted to see 1 particular car in action, then its great

It's always fun to see the rally-oldies. Last year most of the former rallylegends were driving sideways on the hillclimb, like rallycars should to be driven. The drawback was 2 crashed rallycars (Kankunnen in his Celica and Wilson in his Focus). I hoped the rallystage would mean drifting cars on a forrest stage. But what I understand of your story, they were saving the material this year. Maybe the trees beside the stage slowed them down. Although it's great to see these animals in their natural environment.

That's a really great show   All those legendary racing machines between new sports cars. :o :o

But..... the only Ferrari model was the F430 !?!? That's a shame...... don't they like Ferrari's or what ???

I loved those Skylines, specialy the first one 8)

And what about that Peugeot 306R4, is it a rallycross car ?? I had never heard about it....

I'll be waiting for more pics of this amazing event in the next days

I found out about the date a little too late. By then, my sched had already been etched in stone, so unfortunately, I'll miss Goodwood this year. :(

My only hope for my own Birdcage pics will be the upcoming Motorshow at Excel next year... or MPH05... hopefully they bring it. :(

And what about that Peugeot 306R4, is it a rallycross car ?? I had never heard about it....

There was also a Ferrari 246GT in my pictures, one of my favourite ferrari's, there were also several 360's, but since I dont actually like the 360, I didnt take any photos of it :o

and the 306R4 is used in rallying, it has 2 seats, a driver & co-driver, its used in events in the UK, I have a video somewhere of it on stage, its nearly impossible to get information about, which is why I was so happy when I saw it, I wanted to talk to the driver, but he wasnt around, all I know is rumours that the mid engine (a Cosworth powerplant i believe) produces about 400bhp. The car is totally custom made, with no affiliation with Peugeot in any way.

and Dingo... you should see my motorshow pictures, about 500 pictures from each show i go to, there is just over 200 from this show, plus lots of other cars i didnt take pics of :P :P

The Gulf Porsche is a 917, from the legendary Ferrari Porsche Le mans battles. Porsche won the 24h of Le Mans a couple of times in the early seventies with 917's.

The Mercedes 300SLR is probably the one that won the Mille Miglia in 1955 with Stirling Moss at the wheel.

I remember watching Goodwood on a show on the telly about 6 or so years ago, that was broadcast at 2am in the morning because it was still considered a "fringe" event.

Now it seems that besides us real fanatics, it is now "fashionable" to attend Goodwood as a social event and as such folks are held at a little more arms lenght.

Is this really the case? That the "Pebble Beach" style crowd are diluting the hardcore nature of Goodwood?

Either way great to attend I am sure. Who knows if between all the NASCAR Speed TV will even show us more than just a brief news item on Goodwood.

You hit the nail on the head mate, i went 3 years ago and it was already becoming more and more crowded with people who looked more interested in getting pissed than looking at the cars.
My dads been each year since and said it gets worse each year. Still some very nice cars there though. :)
