Not too dramatic looking, still can't wait to see it run. Should be at Petit this year!

Actually its kind of ugly.
Oh well, looks aren't what make cars go fast.

Is this the competition version of the CGT then? ;)

^^^^

Dont think so.. This is a LeMans prototype, it is supposed to race in the ALMS, LMES series in the LMP category and not in the GT..

wow, i really dont think porsche when i look at it. hope it is fast and reliable, it will be nice to see Porsche racing something other than the 911 GTRS in the American Le Mans series

well did you first think Audi when you first saw the R8? I'm very excited to see this thing run even though it will be slower than the GT1 class cars...

Text to go with the pictures....
“This is not intended to be a factory program that simply dominates. It’s intended to be a precursor of a comprehensive, multi-car customer program,” Atherton continued. “The high-watermarks that have been achieved in prototype racing were when Porsche has had a strong customer prototype program, whether it was in the 935, 956 or 962 era. Our goal and Porsche’s goal is to return to those times. Having a dozen Porsche prototypes racing in the series would be a spectacular situation for all involved, and I think there is a real opportunity to get there. Teams will have access to a cutting edge, state-of-the-art, factory-supported prototype program as customers of Porsche Motorsport just as they do now with GT2.”

At LeMans, the Astons were 1kph faster than the new Lolas. I wouldn't expect this Porsche to be much slower. The biggest difference is cornering speeds.

The biggest problem with the P2 class is reliability, hopefully this car will help turn that around.

“This is not intended to be a factory program that simply dominates.

Porsche has a "no aggressive competition" agreement with Audi. Hopefully that won't have an effect on whether or not to step up to P1 once this car becomes a customer program.

Looks like your typical Le Mans car :|

As has already been said...the Astons were only a little faster than the MG lola.... What matters is cornering...but still, in LeMans this year, i hated to see that the only cool porsches were in the Museum....GT3 RSR are cool... but boring....

However, LMP2.... I dunno...Still not out to get the R8

Still not out to get the R8

The R8 is done for. After this year finishes, you won't see it again. Unless someone makes a crazy hybrid, dont' expect that to happen. Audi has already said they would be building a new car.

Had the R8 not run with weight penalties adn a smaller restrictor, I'm guess it owuld have been just as quick as the Pescarolo's. Ulrich said they would be back and they would be gunning for the top spot.
Justa guess, but if anyone has their work cut out for them, it's Pescarolo! LOL
