....no way I am donating my money to Lindsay Lohan in a movie like that (or actually, for any movie). Judging from the trailer, I am 101% sure the original one will be better.

Was browsing on Tribute.ca and reading the movie reviews....some highschool kid has some very funny insight.

Quote "I was so excited to see this movie that I camped outside the movie theatre for 3 nights and I missed my calculis, physics, and my world religions exams just to get front row seats!!!!!!!!! To my surprise only 12 people showed up to the movie that day and i was wondering why no one was there. After the first 15 mins of this movie it came clear why no one showed up to this master piece of *&$%. Ive seen better acting skills at school drama class."

crap crap crap, all i hope is that with this movie coming out they will now come out with the original Herbie on DVD.

We've had it at work for over a month now...
did you know: they had to digitally reduce Lindsay Lohan's breasts 2 cup-sizes for this movie...

I grew up seeing the originals ( Old Fart) I still love seeing the original which I believe was released in 1969, especially when they showed Herbie racing head to head with cars like the Chaparral at the now defunct Riverside raceway. And what was cool was that the car footage was not sped up, they seriously modified this car to keep up with the full-blown cars.
And about Lohan, she's OK in my book. She did storm out of the premiere after the movie was shown because her song was moved to the end credits instead of being played in a scene, and no one from the studio told her, it was edited at the last minute.

Q. What kind of engine and modifications did Herbie have?
A. In "The Love Bug," some of the cars were equipped with Porsche engines, and some had modified Transporter engines, with big-bore cylinders and early Type 3 dual-port heads and dual carbs. The cars were also equipped with Porsche brakes, KONI shocks and EMPI camber compensators. In later films, Herbie was often equipped with an 1835cc Volkswagen engine with 2 bbl carb, heavy-duty valve springs, external oil cooler and deep sump. The cars used in "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" and "Herbie Goes Bananas" often had up to four shocks per wheel
