Hi guys, have a question, I would like to know if there are any good codecs or whatever to improve watching(Jabba's) vids.

I'm a bit noob with this stuff, so would really appreciate it if I could get some help and suggestions.

Thanks.

to improve watching(Jabba's) vids.

I'm afraid I don't get this :). Anyways, if you can't play a vid I suggest you use VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html). If this doesn't help I believe there is little hope left :).

Well, I can watch the vids, but I wanted to know if there are ways to improve the quality.

btw, thanks for responding, I'll check that site out.

use movie maker or windows media encorder to increase the res of the vdeo and also improve the sound . but it will cost you alot of space ...... or download some new codecs ... they might help if you have reallly old codecs ...
yer question is really pointless btw .. :?
i dont see any need of improvement in "" (Jabba's) vids. "" .... the vid quality and the sound quality is good ... what else do you need .. DVD quality ?? lol

You will certainly be able to increase the bitrates, but as far as actual video & audio quality it will not improve by doing that. with compression, once you've done the initial compression you cannot regain the quality loss (at least not so easily, maybe some fancy programs out there have magic in their code).

yup all you can do is apply filters to lower res vids in a video editing program. Though generally such filters for example will create an effect to soft and smeary for my eyes and you loose detail. Personally i find them perfectly watchable, maybe sit a little further away from your screen :P

Yeah, I know what you mean, but sometimes I can watch them in perfect size and resolution, and other days its just smaller :?

You mean the vid going full screen properly?? If so try BS player (www.bsplayer.org) You can use the custom pan and scan feature in that to get the desired size.

The older generation of free DivX players allowed you to choose *Performance VS Quality*
So if you have a strong enough system, setting it on high quality might help extract the best quality from the video.
