Meh, not difficult to get power from a diesel, Fuck off huge turbo, fuck loads of fuel! doesnt need to be particularly accurate as this video shows!!!
Oh and dear god they both need Limited Slip Diffs!

Sorry for the stupid question, but why all the black smoke produced by the diesel engines?

With a diesel you gain more power running rich, a lot more so than with a petrol engine. I am not entirely sure why, but its a combination of the burn qualities of diesel fuel and the compression ignition of a diesel engine.
I think those engines could run a lot leaner than they are and not loose a huge amount of power.
I whacked the fueling up on our landrover 300TDI and the smoke was becoming noticable, so a backed it off a bit and it seemed to pull better!
Its similar to a petrol engine, but im not sure if there is such a thing as stochiometric combustion in diesel engines  !!! Or it seems that way with the majority of tuned diesels.

This is really pointless... diesels are supposed to offer economical consumption and a confortable ride (torque... you know) so what I don't understand is why do they want a diesel to do burnouts???

and clios are supposed to be driven by 17 year-old girls, listening britney or some pop music like that, and the speed limit of those are cars are supposed to be 60km/hr 8)
j/k

Hahaha, yeah, the LSD's are really needed for sure!!!!!

But they went through quite some difficulties to get those amounts of power. I also think it's very creative and original to go this way. I was expecting to see a brandnew E400CDI. I also noticed that the cars don't sound like diesels at all. Some info I found (and was able to understand from Finnish or so):

The red 190 is equiped with a 2.5 I6 fitted with a Garret 03 Cosworth turbo and lots of custom work (3" exhaust for example):

The black 190 started out as a 2.3-16 witha trashed engine. The 3.0 I6 diesel from a '96+ E300TD 24v was fitted with a masive turbo and again lots of custom fabrication.

And the powerfigures, quite impressive:

MartijnGizmo, you seem to understand Finnish very well. How is that?
The red one is also waiting for 300D engine to be installed. Finnish on that page is not deffinately any text book Finnish :D

My Finnish is as bad as your Dutch, but I do understand powerfigures and Google knows enginecodes. :)
