Guys, after 2 days editing pics, and a couple of hours now uploading and writing the pages, I am fed up with this PC monitor and for once I won't type too much :D

Just a little background: it was a meeting of the Ferrari Club Switzerland (only official club in our country), but basically not a national meeting, just a regional one. In the end, more cars from other parts of the country popped up, but Iam trying to figure out how huge a national get together would be.

This weekend the cars were 60  anything from a 250GT SWB up to recent models passing through Mondial, 308, 328, 348 (a Challenge too), 355, 360, 360CS, 512BB, 512TR, Testarossa, 456GT, 612, 430, 550, 575 (included the matte black one), F50, Enzo

On the website you will find 184 pics! That's the biggest update ever for scs.com! Most pics were taken on a little mountain not far from here, 1500 meters over the sea, a pretty cold day, the result was amazing! Almost nobody around, so pretty easy to take proper pics! A dream come true!

Then the cars came down in Lausanne, the police had to help them to reach the parking because a 60 Ferrari convoy is something a normal town can't simply withstand!

This was Saturday. Then Sunday morning they went again up the mountain to a luxury hotel (very nice place BTW) and a little cocktail.. not easy to take pics, pretty cramped, but again, nobody around!

It was amazing! the cars just gorgeous, the weather not perfect but the lack of other curious ppl made it a perfect occasion not to miss!

Here are some previews, click them to reach the 184 high-res pics update

Sadly it was impossible to take a pic with all the cars.. the Enzo and another 10 or so are just to the right in this one

at least you've seen one! i havnt even seen one at Park Place or at Ferrari of Seattle. oh yeah too bad there were no 288 GTO's or any 250's i would have hoped there would have been one. not even an F40

Yeh too bad indeed! I was hoping for a couple of F40, but maybe the bad weather kept them inside. And if with 250 you mean 250 GTO, well, to see them at such meeting (with also some driving around included), is just like seeing a flying Enzo :D

Well, I will check with a friend of mine knowing everything about the Ferraris in this country, but basically as for any other rare car, it is safe to say there at least one around here.

You're such a lucky guy !!!! :o

I would be very happy if I could see half of the Ferraris

The pics are perfect as usual 8) I like the detail of the colors on the front lights. Is it normal or you made it on the computer ??

IMO That's probably the worst looking color for an Enzo. But, who cares about the color anyway ? That's an Enzo

Great pics of my favourite Ferrari, the 360CS

And the matte black 575 was there too :o

    I think I will send the first picture to the president of the Perth Ferrari Club and show him what a real Ferrari meeting looks like. :P

Simply stunning pictures again, a beautiful location and as you said not many people around. :D Why was there no one there - was it a 'secret' meeting again?

There is way too many cars to comment on, but for me the best of them are the blue F430  , the 348 Challenge, black Testarossa and obviously the two supercars! :D

Thanks a million - I have saved nearly all of them.

I like the detail of the colors on the front lights. Is it normal or you made it on the computer ??

I'm pretty sure thats the effect of the polarizing filter he uses.

Again thanks guys! I love to take pics, but the final aim is to share them with ppl who love car pics and who aren't maybe as lucky as I am in the car sightings dept! So your feedbacks are VERY welcome!

SilviaEvo, my sources confirmed me there are two 250 GTO in Switzerland as long as a special model, a 330 GTO

...
Simply stunning pictures again, a beautiful location and as you said not many people around. :D Why was there no one there - was it a 'secret' meeting again?

Well sort of: it wasn't avertised and on their website there was no detail, I asked them the permission to be there to take some pics and they give me the details for a couple of rendez-vous point they called "public", but seeing how many ppl there were, it was still like a private thing :D

Excellent pics as always! The Enzo looks really cool in this color - is it silver or Titanium I wonder ...

The color is called Grigio Titanio, titanium grey

Sensationell! Absolutely great pics TT - i read about this event on the club website but forget to write this date in my calender. i'm really pissed of if i see those beautiful pics. i definitely have to join the next event.

Just remember it isn't that easy to have some info for them, so you better send your inquiry in advance ;)
I wrote them almost 3 weeks in advance and got the infos only 4 days ago basically  just in time.

not sure if you know it, but there will be a pretty nice Lambo meeting this weekend ;)

Too bad there were no F40 or 288 GTO... but the cars present were simply stunning! The 348 Challenge, the yellow F355 Spider, the blue F430, the 250 GT SWB, the black matt 575M, the silver Enzo... amazing!!!

The quality of the pics is superb... I think I'll buy a polarized filter someday... jeje. Thanks a lot dude! A very good way to start the day (it's 10h00AM here  )!

There are another 3 or 4 Ferrari meetings this summer, so I hope to see some F40 or 288 GTO soon, but, fingers crossed, it could happen in september not too far from here ;)
Oh and yes, the polarizer filter is a must (again :D): once you will start using it, you will simply be unable to take pics without it anymore :D

... I like the detail of the colors on the front lights. Is it normal or you made it on the computer ?? ..

It's just a polarizer filter's side effect as dingo said already ;) ;)

 That black mat Maranello is justperfect. is it the same one you spotted before?? It could be because this colour is pretty rare.

It had a "VD" plate the last time I saw it, now it is registered in "GE".. so either it changed hands, either the owner moved.. eitherway, who cares LOL :D
Sadly I didn't check the chassis # the first time (I did it this time) but it's safe to say there should be only a single 575 like that around here

And again as dingo said, the 348 with black wheels is actually a Challenge version converted for road use (not that you need to do many mods actually to make it legal)

And the blue of the 430 should be the Blu Pozzi if I am not wrong

I hope to find out its effect tomorrow - I plan to go to the shops and see if I can get one for my camera.

I have been convinced of its advantages after looking at your (and some others) pics... :D

Dang, polarizer filters manufacturers should pay me a commission :D

LOL.....not a bad idea!!! :P

While we are on the topic, do you have any quick tips before I go to the shops tomorrow?

I know that I should get a 'circular' one or something, but not much more.... :?

TT
06-07-2005, 08:54 AM
Well, at the shop you will probably only find the "circular" ones anyway. And you can't go wrong, there aren't many manufacturers, and as long as you don't buy some weird and cheap one, it will be fine. Anyway it doesn't cost much. Mine is a pretty small diamter, 58 mm, and it's almost the smallest one (ence cheaper). Be also sure to have the adapter to put it on the camera. Mine came with the Pro 1, if not you need probably to buy it.
Then when you have it, play with it a little bit by going out, finding a car and look through the filter directly without installing it on the camera. Start to rotate it to see how it effects the reflections, it's pretty intuitive to understand how to rotate it to erase the reflections on a give part of a car. Most of the time you will end up leaving it at 0 degrees (perfect for frontal shots with no reflections in the windshield). But sometimes for a 3/4 shot and the sun placed a bit low and coming from one of the side, you will need to rotate it to remove the reflections on the side for instance.

You will soon get hooked.

Also remmeber, in most cases the filter slighty slow down your shutter speed since less light can enter the sensor. Basically my pro 1 with the filter can rarely reach the 1/200 (auto mode, so F around 4) when without it it will easily be at 1/500 or faster. For these pics for instance, the ones in the parking lot were usually took at 1/80 or 1/100 while the other ones took at the other location struggled to reach the 1/80. But since you will know it, you just try to be steady ;)

dingo
06-07-2005, 09:06 AM
Thanks for the tips, look forward to trying it out. :D
BTW, what affect does the diameter have? If I get a bigger diameter than your 58mm whats the difference?

TT
06-07-2005, 09:20 AM
There will be only one diamter that will fit on your camera that's it ;) it depends on the diamter of the camera lense.

it has been said before, but here it is again ... that black 550 looks awesome, really nice, i also like the comparison of 360 next to 430, must say as much as i like the new 430, the 360 was a nicer, cleaner design, too bad there is such a power difference between them, kind of makes it no contest ... the enzo looks great in any color i have seen so far, i bet even in pink it would look good ... the photos are awesome, thanks for spending extra time editing them for us

BTW What about a a calender where everybody could place events and other important dates with further information?

It will be Saturday in Saanen and Sunday at the medieval village of La Gruyère. Basically saturday morning they will be at the small airstrip to be flown around with an old russian plane and there will be also an acrobatic plane doing some figures. Then in the afternoon they will go for a ride up two mountain passes. Sunday morning they will come down to La gruyère to visit the castle.
I will be there both days I think, if you want more details PM me ;)
And well, of course I always have all the events wrote down in my "car agenda", but would be pointless on a JW level since we are spread all over the world and it would become HUGE

Holy mother of god!! This is what you can call a real exclusive car meeting. Those Swiss guys just keep on amazing me :D

This 'little' Ferrari meeting looks far more impressive than the little Ferrari meeting I visited a month ago. Do you get a second Ferrari for free when you buy your first one in Switzerland? Cause there are by the looks of it loads of wild Italian Maranello horses in the Swiss Alps. Love the 250 SWB, the Enzo of course and the 512BB's. The matt black 575 is a sexy looking beast too. I'm just blown away by these sightings :D

And needless to say the picture quality is superb. Not only do the colours look good, the way the cars are positioned in the pics in combination with the amazing backgrounds makes top quality material!!

Superb job!

TT
06-07-2005, 02:47 PM
If you will be there I hope we could at least quickly meet :) I will be there both days if everything goes well.
Sadly I can't be sure all the cars will be there Sunday at La Gruyère, but I guess so :bah:

Very nice pics again TT! :D

Guys, after 2 days editing pics, and a couple of hours now uploading and writing the pages, I am fed up with this PC monitor and for once I won't type too much

There is a solution I use on my website. It's a program where you only have to select the map with your pics, resizing, cropping, thumbnails, the SCS-logo are all done by that program. You can make galleries with it, so it immediately generates a gallery. You can edit several things in the program, so the generated gallery will exactly look like you want.
The link: http://www.digitaldutch.com/arles/
It really works, but I can't give you an example now because my website with those galleries is down :( But it takes only 5 minutes to create the gallery and than the uploading. A little less time than you spent to these pics

If you have any questions: use pm

TT
06-07-2005, 03:53 PM
I don't like automated stuff ;) every pic is different, I always crop them but you can't automate that since the centering is always different. The sharpening level always changes too ;) same goes with the contrast, colors and so on. And the logo can't always go in the same corner ;)
But thanks for the suggestion anyway.
And automated galleries often have some heavy and useless coding ;)

yeah I thought about that, but I don't really want to buy a new camera just for that.

There was a Fuji at the shop for $333 which could fit a filter, but by the specs its a worse camera than mine so I don't think it would be a smart move

Really nice pics TT! Wish I had known about this one, I would have definitely gone there to see the cars in person.

But being a HUGE Ferrari fan, I've already seen all of those cars several times (including F40, F50, Enzo, and so on).

One day I WILL have a Ferrari, preferably a 360 or 430, I just LOVE that design, definitely the best looking one (for me).

Thanks for the pics!
