Yes Ashley is hotter but I have to give props to Danica seeing as she's from Peoria Illinois only about 1.5 hours from here. They had the women of racing Hot Rod magazine issue not that long ago with Ashley on the cover and Danics was in it.

i think robby gordon needs to shut up. can't he beat a woman w/ just a 1mph advantage! :twisted: ...............in anycase..his physics are a bit screwed up. more weight only effects acceleration. all things being equal, the car will still attain the same top speed regardless of weight, it just takes longer to accelerate to Vmax.

in conclusion, suck it up, and stop complaining.

Do either one of them have any experience in an open-wheeled car? It's totally different than other forms of racing, I've seen things where Open wheel guys switched with other drivers and they all say the same thing about the other type, that it is crazy and would take getting used to.

I would think that Danica would have to work harder through the turns at up to +3g. What with men having an advantage in upper body strength, I would assume it all balances out.

well, she hasn't been doing too badly. she was running in 4th for quite awhile and led lap 56. stalled the car at the end of a pit stop and dropped to 16th, don't know where she is now :bah:

She's doing pretty good right now, considering. About 15th place. I guarantee you one thing, she continues to run as good as she has been, eventually the rest of the driver's will petition the IRL for a rule change on the weight issue.

I can see both sides of this actually. Remember when the woman pro golfer was going to try to play in the regular PGA and it caused all kind of issues. MY feeling back then was that of course women should be able to play in the PGA IF they use the same Pro tees as the men. But if they want to compete in a PGA tournament but use the “ladies tees” while all the other men use the pro tees I think that would be unfair. Anyone that can play golf by all the same rules as everyone else and play well enough to make the cut should be allowed.

That said, currently she is racing by all the same rules as the men because there is not a driver weight rule in the Indy 500. But before you can say they should just add 100lbs of weight to her car you would have to look at the weight of every singe driver. I’m sure there are some small men that weigh below the average too. They would have to get weight added to their cars also.

She finished 4th in the race which is quite an achievement considering the problems she had throughout the race - and she had a chance to win within the last 10 laps :D
Dan Wheldon won in the end under the yellow flag unfortunately - so congrats to him :D
It was interesting to see that she actually got more post-race attention than the Wheldon who actually won the race :lol:

you know we have many non oval trakcs here in the US I would say we have SOME of the best racks in the World. ALMS is a perfect example along with all the different GT series.

yes, while that is true: Infineon, Laguna Seca . . . and many more, when do we ever get watch ALMS, F1, WRC, JGTC, DTM, on non-cable programming? Even SPEED is infiltrated with redneck racing. obviously, network programming will air what "sells" so you can't fault them too much.

Well I guess if you don't have Cable your semi SOL but I have seen ALMS on CBS many of time and just today I watched some Speed GT racing on Speed obviously I just check the airing of races each week on Sunday and set reminders so I never actually go to Speed unless something is on and if I'm not home I'll set the DVR to record it.

I enjoy rally, but I fall asleep watching F1 for some reason, thats why I don't bother watching or downloading them anymore. I only watch the highlights to see who wins and the crashes :D.

Danica is a good driver and kind of cute but I am really tired of hearing about her just because she is a woman driver. After the last race practically no one knew who won just that she finished 4th. Im not a fan of Indy either.

But she is definitely NOT the first woman to race and certainly not the best woman. Remember Michelle Mouton, the lady that tore shit up in an Audi Quattro? Or Janet Guthrie racing Le Mans years ago? Or Milka Duno racing in the Rolex Grand Am? Its cool that Danica is out there and I am not disrespecting her talent, but I think once a race is over, credit should go to the driver that wins, not the one with tits.

And I do think Ashley Force is hotter.
