as for airflow, the low pressure there is still very much compared to even a thousand ft. (100mb) higher, so that wouldn't be a problem.

its pretty cool he went and made it work, is it cheaper then fixing the trucks AC??

Because of the way an AC unit works. The whole thing is based off of heat transfer which requires airflow. if there is no air going over the condensor, then the change of state cannot take place in the freon and it won't be as effective.

Well I would say that is at least a $350 AC unit so probably not! That AC is 5200 BTU and is meant to cool a decent sized 1 bedroom apartment not a tiny truck cab LOL Thats serious overkill!!

That fan won't be as efficient if there isn't much air to pull though :wink:

It's kind of like being in higher altitudes where the air is alot thinner, but you still have the pressures of being near sea level.

It looks like it would be pretty easy to steal. Get in that guys truck bed, start pushing on the AC unit with your foot until you make it break loose and push it in so the seat falls forward. Then reach in, unlock the door... And you just got yourself a New AC Unit, Power converter, and what ever else he might have in his truck! lol :twisted: :P
