In this topic we will be showing how we display our models. We will offer ideas, suggestions and whatever helpfull information we can. I believe that displaying properly our models is VERY essential. Having a very nice model that is not properly displayed reduces the visual quality of it. So far Ive being displaying my models throughout my room. But my colection grows bigger and bigger every month so now Im in a a need of a specialized car miniature displaying theme. The hunt begins! :D

Well, the obvious answer might be a display case or large glass cabinet with glass shelves (like in museums) if you can afford the cost and space. This is great for physical viewing of the models, but since you are asking the question on an internet forum...

Taking the matter of 'displaying' the models, it depends in what type of media. What I mean is if you want to share your collection on the net, pictures are the logical option. In my opinion, dioramas rule everytime when displaying models in a picture, or even a video (assuming RC cars of course) I guess. If you have a lot of models of the same scale you can just rotate them through three or four dioramas and end up with a great set of pics of your collection.

There is a thread on JW where someone posted a shot of a high quality 1:18 car with some bushes in the background, the car almost looks real (as in 1:1 scale) in the shot!

Will try and dig out a link

When I say "dipslaying" I mean how each one of us keeps/stores its models in his room/home..

I've always wanted to start a collection like that... my parents never made the container they promised they would. Now that I live in the US... That dream is over... I dont want to have a shelf made at Premium cost and get my models all dusty.

My models are also in a showcase, bought at ikea, "detolf" i think...

but that's so boring :? i'd like to have some diorama's to put some models on...

once saw a big 1/43 "Loews-curve" diorama, but that's for F1 cars

i want a nurburgring diorama, should be +-50 cm long, piece of the circuit, departure where you buy the tickets and parking place + the long slope next to it :o that would be awesome, to bad this is not for sale, don't have time nor skill to make it myself, and having one build for me will cost a lot :? maybee later....

if you got some cool  let me know

I'm sure I've said it before but very nice collection and display dani  BTW, what make is the red 1:18 Ferrari 456 you have?

Well here is my display which currently houses 17 x 1:18 models plus a few other smaller ones. I have 2 more models on their way to me now so once they arrive (soon hopefully) the shelf will be pretty much full :(
I'll have to see whether I can convince my dad to make another one for me next time I go to my parents place :D
