it's way simpler, a bit bigger maybe, but seems MUCH fun!

And well, the "engine" thing alone is just 850 €, and still under the 1000 € mark if you want also the little "support" or whatever you can call it. The one on wich you can step if you don't want to use it with the rollers :D

umm, maybe more funnier then the segway but less practical due to size. if only the segway hadnt been so damn expensive it would of been huge.

Well, a cheap Segway won't be a Segway anymore since it won't have the giroscopic stuff anymore :D

HAHA, hello Peter! Your easy-glider was shown to me by my dad who is into the Twike quite a lot (you must know what the Twike is, I am sure). And since he is into "electric stuff" if you allow me the term, he loved the glider since the first instant he saw it!

Congrats! Sadly it doesn't seem to have the coverage the Segway had, but IMO as I said, it is a much better and "real" package!

I don't know if it is listed on the website, I should check, but how much does it weight, all included?

For sure I know the TWIKE, they had their support-center located in the old part of city of Berne, where my head-quarter is located too. But unfortunately suddenly they disappeared..

Your Dad reacts absolutely normal.. Everybody falls in love with our Baby at the first sight or ride (no kidding!). Driving the Easy-Glider ist something completely new and unique (ok, driving the Segway too..). But the Segway is "only" a human transporter, our device is also a sporting tool. Cruising with inline-skates behind the Glider, listening to the integrated 40Watt MP3 player - that's magic!!

Somebody above asked about the size of the Easy-Glider.. The Glider is foldable, it fits even in a SMART.. We deliver it in a box with the size 80x60x40 cm and it weights with the wheeled char which is attached directly to the Glider only 33kg (Segway 43 kg). We reduced speed to 20 km/h, which allowes riding without a helmet. But of course we deliver the "open" versions (35 km/h) and are planning a "racing" version with 60-65 km/h - using only with inline-skates. A crazy feeling, like water-skiing on the road...

Hi macropolis, I know this is prolly the last thing to ask but: I notice that the tires are very slim (prolly for better steering action) but how well does the easy glider brakes (compared to say...a bicycle)

We have 2 or better 3 brakes. On the front wheel - the big 20" one - we have just like a bicycle, a simple rim brake. But on the char, we've mounted on both small wheel a strap brake (see the pict of the char on our homepage -> shop -> products -> easy-glider -> char). These strap brakes affect like hell! It's like an emergency stop..

Yes Peter, I was born in Ticino but I live in Lausanne now ;)

Sadly the TWIKE is struggling lately.. nobody really interested to keep it alive.. or better, the ones interested are broke, and the ones with the money prefer to invest elsewhere :bah: Too bad, like your glider, the TWIKE is a very interesting and different concept! My dad on his first one did several thousands of KM!

As for the glider yes I was guessing you need to restrict it for the helmet issue. it still is a good speed. What about gliding uphill? Do you have any max %age it will climb?

I was wondering about the brakes too. I know the little char has seprate brakes you action with that pedal, but what about the main thing, only an engine braking that will also re-charge the battery or does it have also some conventional braking system in it?

And what about regular use in town? When you need to park it somewhere, how can you do? I mean with the char. Do you have to put it against a wall? Is there a way to fold it a bit?
At 33 kg I guess ppl could steal it if they want by just lifting it, but is there some security system that will block the electric engine or the wheel?

edit - ok I saw the answer for the brakes issue already. So there is no engine braking?

hmm.. well that just looks retarded.. i'm not saying the segway doesnt look retarded... but not as much as this swiss "segway".. there is no wow factor.. its just a wheel and some skates...

segways are cool only because of the gyroscope imo.
