View Full Version : Amazing convoy I followed today: Enzo, MC12 and F430!!

I followed them for 20 minutes. Starting in Geneva and ended on a French highway :D
If I could have popped up at that crossroad 30 sec later and miss them :!:

Actually I saw the Enzo at first, I did a crazy U turn where if caught you will probably end up in jail, burned a red light and chased it down. Finally I reach it and I notice something else in front of it.. the MC12! I have plenty of pics of these two cars taken inside the dealership (on my website soon). And in front of the MC, an F430 you can barely see in this pic of mine!
They were heading to France, the dealership is closed 7 days so I guess the staff is attending some sort of meeting or whatever.
Sadly I couldn't take a single pic from the side of the road :( and once I realized we were entering France, it was too late, it was an highway and they floored it, leaving me all alone :bah:

Still, this shot is ok I guess, and a once in a lifetime sight I think!

And the second shot (actually it was the first, before I could shoot outside the side window the other one)

Nice sighting - someone over at PH saw the exact same convoy combo in the UK, albeit I think the MC12 was in black

hahaha, the Roundel on the hood must have been hanging on for dear life :D Good thing BMW engines are made for punishment, anything else would have said 'piss off' and gone on a permanent vacation :D

HAHA, luckily traffic lights helped me out and of course I was willing to burn every red one that would have tried to stop my hunt :D It easy to follow even a 1500+ hp convoy in town, even with a bicycle obviously.. sadly the highway finally came and they were bored to see my mad face in the rearview mirrors :D

I added the only other pic in the first post BTW.. basically same moment, but shot from inside my car just in case they would have disappeared :D

Either that or the connecting rods deciding to add a window or two in the side of the block

*edit* i love the way the F430 tail lights are playing hide and seek through the MC12 spoiler in the second pic. Excellent shots TT :D

Un-be-lie-va-ble!!!!

This is one of the craziest on road sighting pics I've seen in my life. Thank god you had the guts to do a U-turn, burn a red light, and follow them to France. Too bad they left you for dead when they floored it on the highways :D

Nevertheless, 2 amazing pics. The second one, which was actually the first one, did you took it through your front windscreen? If so, how did you avoid the reflections of the front windscreen, or how did you delete them in PS?

They were heading to France, the dealership is closed 7 days so I guess the staff is attending some sort of meeting or whatever.
Gumball? I hope so, but I guess it's not the reality...

W O W!

i'm waiting for my first enzo, mc12 and the 430!

But I'll think I'll see the 430 in summer...the spring has come, so I'm going out hunting later in the summer, gonna be good. goo-ood!

...

Yes, through the windshield, but I kept the camera a bit higher then usual to avoid the heater's exits reflections to be in the field, I had no time to install the polarizer filter, but it could basically remove them I think. And nothing was erased or hidden with PS beside the plates ;)

Well, my guesses were: Gumball, Cannes (the movies festival you know), or Monaco GP... but well, they were heading toward the South of France.. so the Gumball is unlikely and no MC12 is in the car's list. And it's too early to go already in MC to party at the end of the trip. For the GP too.. too early. And Cannes.. uhm.. doesn't convince me that much.
Ppl already guessed the Enzo could be Schumi's: this one is Rosso Scuderia, non Corsa, and Schumi's is indeed Rosso Scuderia. And he lives in "VD"... but probably not, the first owner of this Enzo, if it is really the one already seen at the dealership was a guy involved in watches and shit.. oh anyway, useless to guess such stuff.. basically we have no idea, especially about their destination. The Monte Carlo's hunters were informed and they will look out for them the next few days :D

Errr... the... mmm... what can I say??? What an awesome sight dude!!! I'm still shocked! If I were you... instead of burning a red light I would have burned my car's engine in the highway!!! :D You lucky bastard to live there!

BTW, the first pic is my new wallpaper!!! :D

Remeber, I already lost my license once, just some months ago... I tried to keep up. Actually, I tried to anticipate their runaway. I was in second and floored the whole second and third gear, but while I was starting my slow acceleration, I heard the 430 dropping down a couple of gears and exploding away, quickly followed by the other two. I topped at around 160 km/h before backing off to avoid any troubles, and at 80-100 or 160, there was no difference at all in the way they were disappearing away. I can assure you they really give it a good blast because they stayed in sight for max 10 seconds

WTF

Dude that HAS to be one of the best combos EVER seen on JW.

I'd kill for a combo like that. Well, I'll have my share of nice combos in Dubrovnik

The pic is my background 8)

I guess I don't have to ask if they sounded good, because I know it was to die for....

How does the MC12 look in real life? I bet it's just fuckin insanely beautifull....

A post like this and I can't even put a nice long sentence together....

Thx a bunch for not obeying the law and providing the pics. Otherwise nobody would have belived you....

Hehe, but combos at motorshows, in dealership or special events don't count :P

I guess I don't have to ask if they sounded good, because I know it was to die for....

Indeed, no need to ask :D they sounded just amazing. Three pretty different sounds, mixed together, ust WOW! I already heard Enzos and F430s, but it was my first MC12 beeing drive. It seems the quiter one, and by far. I think it could be the owner also with a light foot. The 430 at town speed is for sure the louder one. or maybe it had an aftermarket exhaust, but at every stop light the one I could hear the most was the 430, even if it was far away in front.
And well, when they put the pedals to the metal all together on the highway, it was an orgy of screaming high revving engines. A thunder flying to the horizon, the highway was desert, the sun was high into the sky! Should have been amazing to be insde one of those cars my God!!

How does the MC12 look in real life? I bet it's just fuckin insanely beautifull....

Well, on the road it is VERY impressive. I saw already ms share of MC12, both at Geneva motorshow and in a dealership. but in isolation, or even close to an Enzo but in isolation, it doesn't impress that much for its sheer size. but while the Enzo in the middle of traffic seems very small with its sharp lines, the Maserati is outrageous! It's wide, low, long, totally misplaced, a real UFO!

Thx a bunch for not obeying the law and providing the pics. Otherwise nobody would have belived you....

Yes, definitely this is something you need pics to prove :D

Well it shouldn't really suprise us, these things happen all the time in Switzerland don't they? :P Amazing sighting dude, and what luck that you happened to cross paths with them - its almost like someone/thing is guiding you towards these cars :D
Its a great picture, my wallpaper today also.....and I would love to have seen a video of you on the prowl, must have been hilarious

something pops into my head...TT must have been alone with this happened because i highly doubt his girlfriend would have allowed this to escalate to burning red lights  women are both the voice of reason and cause of annoyance and misery. hmm..reason and annoyance..i see a connection here

Actually my girlfriend had to be passenger quite a lot of times while I was chasing down cars in Lausanne. She has no problems with speed or red lights :D but when I go to Geneva since it is basically for car hunting only, I am always alone or with a friend of mine. And I was with him indeed yesterday. he was moaning more than my g/f would :D he was hungry and wanted to stop at every McDonald's :D

well i will be another one to say, amazing sighting TT. i would have for sure been running red lights, making illegal u-turns, speeding, running over old ladies in wheelchairs, running from cops whatever i had to do to get a better view of those 3 cars. great sighting dude :D

Great pictures TT. Although they left you behind, it must have been great to hear both of those supercars unleashing their power on the highway at the same time.

05-12-2005, 01:33 PM
Not bad at all! I bet the sound was incredible!

TT
05-12-2005, 01:39 PM
Well actually in town's traffic, only the 430 could be heard basically all of the time. The other two, beeing driven basically at idle with those big V12 were damn quite as long as they didn't touch the right pedal too much :D
it's when they are let loose that heavens open :D

I am still like this too dude! More than 24 hours have passed, no major sightings today beside an old RR Silver Cloud III (kinda cool still), so my mind is still focused on yesterday's sightings.
I see many nice cars, no doubt, but that combo was just  and it's terrible at the same time: leaving home 1 minute earlier or 1 minute later, 60 km away from the point were I saw the Enzo, and I would NEVER have known about that convoy! A slower truck after the highway, same result! Somebody at the zebra crossing.. same! Fuck me, there are for sure nice cars around there, but it is also a lot of luck when you catch them!!

I really need a global GPS thing with all the supercars indicated on a big map :D

As they say, timing is everything. Seriously, not only are you geographically fortunate, but you're lucky in a general way as well. You must have some kind of petrolhead for a guardian angel!
