I am more worried about the Diablo not being mentioned...how can you do a feature on Lamborghini and forget this model...perhaps I better ring them up and offer the stig my car....then again perhaps not :wink:

You can hate me if you like but i think Lamborghini makes some of the ugliest cars ever. I think they look very fat and bloated.

but im not welcome in this thread, cus its a celebration of Lambo so im kicking myself out. :)

Clarkson has already reviewed the Countach and Diablo in a Top Gear special....many moons ago....

Too many to mention but any i mention would be an obvious choice.
I just dont *get* Lambo's.

Like most i had a Countach [white] poster on my bedroom wall when i was about 8 but even then i hated the damn thing. A friend gave me the poster as a present so it had to be put up.

Wow... Lamborghini's are my favourite. After last yesterday's Top Gear I was wondering how the hell I was going to be able to wait an entire week for the next, so you can imagine how difficult this is going to be. I'm sure they won't leave out the Diablo. All of Lamborghini's other V12 mid-engined supercars will be there I understand.

Don't lend your Diablo to the Stig, Jabba. Next thing you know he's trying to do 100 on an aircraft carrier with it, killing himself and Diablo in the process.

chernobyl, I'm not going to argue about personal taste with you. That is a debate without end, but it's clear you don't 'get' Lambo's as you said. I hope you don't mind if we just keep on raving and drooling...

What do you think about NOS in a Lambo then? For me personally, that's like sacrilege. The rest of the car looks perfect (except for the colour and the sticker, that I already mentioned). I really like the SV's bodykit.

Knowing what allans all about...I wonder where that pipe actually leads to...I suspect the washer bottle...if I had NOS fitted..one things for sure...there would be 100 videos of it in action posted in the first 24 HRS

sweet. but I think that the best lambo ever made so far was the Murcielago and second was the Diablo millenium edition. but the murci definitly stands out from all!

Jeremy not reviewing the Diablo? That comes at a surprise consider it's one of the better lambos in his opinion. In the old top gear lambo special, he said the miura and countach are not very drivable, especially when it comes to visibility in the back and side. BTW, I have a countach poster on my bedroom wall too!

About the Countach i've one documentary(more Miura and Diablo),and anothers smalls videos,i wait more Lambo news.

A TVR Tuscan S... and maybe a DB7 or Zonda

The TVR, probably the best looking car ever made. No other car is really good looking, I mean really really good looking except for the Tuscan. I'm not saying it's my favorite car, although its up there its just wonderfully crafted.

I have never met anyone that does not like the Tuscan's looks.

The Diablo is a more aggressive looking car, its made so that everyone wants to look at it all the time but not nessiceraly because they like the looks, more because it has such a large presence.

actually i was thinking it was goin straight to the helmet LOL youd have to be a little loony to put nitrous on a Lambo. ive seen so many cars send a rod thru the hood at the strips. i would hate to blow up such a nice V12, cant be cheap to fix either

I like Lambo's current vehicles but I never liked the countach. I only have 2 complaints really about Lambo. A) Many of their cars have some serious rear visibility problems(ex: countach)
B) I'm partial to Ferrari.

That being said a Lambo is still better then almost anything else.

I can't help you with getting to appreciate the Countach, I'm afraid. I'll try anyway. Just imagine it's 1971. Ferrari's current supercar is the Daytona and suddenly Lamborghini presents this car in bright yellow. Even today it looks like it's from another planet, so imagine how it looked in '71. The stance of that car will still instantly clear any fastlane, anywhere. It's true it wasn't the best car to drive, but it was a supercar in every respect. The very few cars it couldn't outrun, it just killed by shouting it to death with that great V12. No car could match it for presence as well.

Visibility is a problem indeed. But who cares? It's a supercar. Nonbody really cares you can't see out of the letterbox that is the rear window because it's blocked by the engine cover and nobody cares that all you see in the side mirrors are the airscoops. You're going forward very fast, so the only way you had to look was straight ahead.

My reasons against the countach are mainly that it is just too extreme for me. I like the Diablo and the later cars, but the countach, especially the older years have always just looked a little cartooney to me.

The visibility and not being Ferrari are just the reasons I wouldnt buy a Lambo if I had the money.

Yehhhhh right......I have respect for it....but somehow I don't think its quite the beauty of a Ferrari or Lamborghini...but then it shoudnt be considering its cost and manufacturing resources.

They are ignorant and like it because they are meant to be liked. Just like many people here in Australia think that Commodores and Falcons are the best looking car money can buy when simply they are not.

In Australia people have no idea what a Tuscan is. We only have one registered that i know of in the whole country and when i point it out to my friends they are spellbound by its looks and sound. A ferrari just doesnt quite do that, a lambo on the other hand does :shock:

TVR may be cheap but they do make a mean car for that kinda money

I used to have a Lotus Esprit before I got into Ferrari's...and I still say its one of the best cars I have ever had and still looks pretty good after all this time....

The Lotus has the performance of most Ferrari's but I cant describe in words what you get extra with a Ferrari or Lambo....accept its better in almost every aspect, brakes, handling (the Lotus was very very good as well), SOUND, heritage etc I also know I could never go backwards to anything else now....this is all based on personal ownership and not magazine test figures of course....

Sounds great. I just wish they did a Ferrari special. I always loved Lambo. Back in the days of Need For Speed 1 the Diablo was my favorite car. I really got into Lambos, but after playing NFS2 and seeing the F50 and 355, my favorite cars became Ferraris. Still I love Lamborghini, and this show is gonna be great.

Hey Everyone, I'm new to the forums. But, getting back to the discussion at hand, I LOVE Lamborghinis. Especially the Countach. I have seen them in person and I have heard the sound of the v-12 and its the greates sound on the planet!!! The Countach has to be the one of the greatest sports cars on the planet! Hopefully, one day, I would like to buy one! Lets keep our fingers crossed! :D

They did do a ferrari special a long time back. Was a 2 part special on top gear.

I even offered a copy of it over on the request offer forum.
