"Save privat ryan" and "Medal of honor" enlightened me least how it was :| I was absolutely shoked when I saw first minutes of SPR. Had to be real hell, people who survived it remember it today for sure as the scaryest day of the're life.

That's why they were so amazed/angered/frustrated that the generations they "saved" did not appreciate their heroism.

The Omaha Beach picture is impressive. I heard that at the time the sea near the shore turned to a red colour beacuse of all the blood :(

^^ i can imagine that bein true as they also potrayed that image at the end of the opening part of saving private ryan.....very scary to even begin to imagine what that day looked and sounded like, ive been in a place were 5 guns were bein shot at the same time and i was scared by how loud they were lol so the noise from that day must have been on a whole new level

i respect every single person who fought in that war,the ones that just stepped off onto that beach and were killed straight away i respect for even goin there knowing they had a high risk of bein killed, they deserve respect doin that to save our countrys.
