Even though it doesn't mention about the spread of this crap that's going around, it does talk about the latest 'craze' that has been hitting (pun intended) the streets of London. The US news has been talking about this as well because there has been some reports of it ocurring in the states.

This craze is in the news again which means it's still going on, worse, according to this article in The Guardian, it's spreading. Apalling.
"Happy slappers" is a youth craze in which groups of teenagers armed with camera phones slap or mug unsuspecting children or passersby while capturing the attacks on 3g technology.
According to police and anti-bullying organisations, the fad, which began as a craze on the UK garage music scene before catching on in school playgrounds across the capital last autumn,is now a nationwide phenomenon.
And as the craze has spread from London to the home counties to the north of England, so the attacks have become more menacing, with increasing numbers of violent assaults and adult victims.
[...] As police have become more vigilant, so the gangs have become more sophisticated, seeking victims in parks or public areas where their crimes are unlikely to be spotted by the authorities or captured on CCTV."
Yup.... a bit of that going on at my college. Rather funny if you ask me, but not so funn if you are a victim.
And with bluetooth, the whole college can have a video of you slapped mates in a few hours 8)

:P I mean the screming at the top of your lungs to out of tune guitar riffs being played by rabbits on speed to a group of kids trying everything they can to hurt each other. Fuckin stupidest shit i've ever seen
What a load of shit if someone walked by me and then all of a sudden turned around to start slapping me I'd pound their heads in :x

thats what im talking about.
anyone that would let this happen and not do something in return deserves it.
thats a bit harsh don't you think? What if you are on your own and a group of guys does it to you - are you gonna fight the lot of them? :|

thats harsh?? and what they are doing is right??
I didn't say that, I meant it was harsh that you said if you don't fight back then you deserve to be 'slapped' or whatever it is these idiots do
You might be confident to take on two guys, but it could be more than that and they could also be confident.....so then you are f*cked :|
To many things can go wrong if you fight back - its not worth it, either let it go or report it if you are really hurt.

If that happens, someone will get shot. Crime here is already getting bad. While I am walking around campus at UMD, I either carry a knife or don't carry valuables.

It will vanish after some period of time. There are needed just few guys who will in return beat the shit out of those punks and it will change 8)
Thanx god it not like we had in Russia in my city - if you went to other part of town you got beated real bad or they took your clothes(if you had nice shues or t-shirt), there was a "war" between parts of the city. And I was going to boxing training thru the town almost every day  never got beaten hehe

According to what I have heard, the people that do this target everyone, young or old. And I would think that these punks target more of the elderly people because they have less of a chance of defending themselves. Not only do they slap their victims, they also punch and push them out of their seats, tackle them; etc. Can you imagine what you can do to an elderly person if you tackled them? I have an elderly mom and I worry about her going to the store alone, what with robberies in my area targeting the elderly on the rise and now I have to worry about this.

I would think that the epicenter of the US craze would be in Pa. More specifically West Chester :P That prick Margera has already got all of his fans wanting him to slap them at autograph signings and shit. Not to mention the 13 year olds that want to emulate their heros and for some reason idolize Bam  If anything i'd say the whole thing will start with them slapping their friends then it will move on to other people.
The problem with these kids is that they really don't care if their victims come back at them or not. If you have ever seen the pits at some of those shows you'll realize really quick that scars and shit like that are almost like medals or something  It's not like the old Slayer and Pantera pits of the 80's it's about 10 times more violent :?

Hey now, that assclown doesn't make up the majority in West Chester(raised up till college within 20 mins of west chester). That being said, maybe I should go for a drive and check it out..
On second thought prolly best I don't. The police wouldn't take kindly to me breaking some kids jaw cause he slapped me.
*Not that I'm a violent person but in the case of a hand moving towards my face rapidly Im more likely to dodge and swing then consider the kid might be playing. In fact, as I can attest through experiences with my father, they'd be better off doing that to me then someone in the military. Personal experience dictates if you swing menacingly at a military person even kiddingly they'll hit you in a pressure point. At least I only aim for the jaw.

No he doesn't. But with him and his cronies running rampant with the MTV cameras on them all the time, nothing seems to be wrong to them
Now i'm not saying WC is going to break out in it, but the inspiration will come from there seeing as how he's got his videos all over he world :| (I believe its CKY3 where he attacks some guy in the bar and beats the crap out of him after yanking him off the bar stool) At the end of CKY4 there is him, Jimmy Pop, Chris Raab and Evil Jared (i think) going around in a circle slapping each other. I don't know of any other videos that have gone out worldwide promoting this kind of stuff.
Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying i don't find what they do funny, cuz i own seasons one 1-3 of Viva la Bam and 2 of the CKY volumes, but this sort of thing does have some side effects with young teenagers.
I began to film this nerd in my class, in august...he was so afraid of my cel. phone camera, that i had to keep on doing it, it was so fun...
But then, his overprotective mother, who happens to be a lawyer, threatened to sue me, outside the school gate...i was in such shock, i almost began laughing!! But then i discovered it's in the school rules that parents have to address the headmaster regarding school problems, and NOT childishly take it outside...so i told on her heheheh....

I wouldn't call it very funny.. At least not with the kind of violence used on a happy-slapping video I saw...
EDIT: The film is unfortunately taken down, but it shows some fucked up things, and the guys doing it deserves some good ol' beating!
