My luck is on a roll for the last few days.. this morning at our breakfast run meet it just so happened that the Sportcar club of Durban was having their annual airstrip meet as well!
I ended up taking more pics of Ferraris, Porsches and Sls than Subarus!
The pics will be uploaded to the multimedia section soon.. Just gotta compress them - Should I reduce the size from 1280X960?
Chaos in 1983!

MAN...more Ferraris!! you got to be on a roll man...now I'm green of envy...shit why the hell do I live here!....you are one lucky man.
You lucky! IMO you can let them 1280 if the size is not to big for your account.. anyway there will be the automatically resized version for ppl not wanting to see them full size and wait them to load :D

Pics are loading up under Car Sightings... What fun I had dicing with a testarossa, sl55, and a GT2... They blew me away at freeway speeds but a few hotter scoobies kept them honest!

Must apologise in advance for the poor pic quality.. It was overcast and my little Nikon 3 megapixel had its work cut out taking anything relatively decent, plus my photography skill level is still at Novice

Ferrari Testarossa -This was THE iconic `80`s supercar (or the countach depending on which side of Italy ur ass falls on  ) I had a huge poster of one in my bedroom... its faded and torn tucked away somewhere now.. These pics dont do justice to a car that has such brutal presence..
Magnum PI`s ferrari below.. nice engine noise...

Porsche GT2 - This car is the fastest production car sold in South Africa at the moment (there are plenty F40`s and F50`s and apparently 2 Mclaren F1s in Gauteng and Namibia - don`t count coz not being sold at the mo!)
The owner won the anual 800m challenge last year .. will post his times when I get them.. Its "lightly modded" (was done at factory in Germany)
Some other porsches below.. check the wings out on the last 2.. whew thats bigger than some small jet`s wings

Since 1994 South Africa is one of the greatest democracies in the world, thanks to the resilient struggle against apartheid by Mr Nelson Mandela and his colleagues.. these pics reveal that his effort paid off.. coz we even cater for Homosexuals in Africa as these cars clearly show...

The black scooby has a 3 inch exhaust, modded fuel rail and pump, remap plus we suspect it has NOS (owner says its completely std cept for zorst :?)- its very strong on the top end.. kills M3`s and M5`s and can run with a SL55 and GT2 over a km. I dont have any dyno figures on this car, estimate its power at about 320-350bhp add another 100bhp if he hits the NOS bottle switch(the one he doesn`t have )
It pulls away from my scooby with PPP and intake mod like i am standing still

The Stang in the 2nd pic (on the right) is SO nice, I love the retro look with the modern/old school chrome rims. If I get a 1st gen. stang, i'd want it to look like that (Unless it was 100% original).

nice pics!! thanks for posting these
Awesome - glad to see that the Rand-Dollar and other issues haven't kept the performance car scene down in ZA.
I left in 95 and moved to Texas - it's easier to make money here ;).
Looks like fun.

RC45 u should bring some of those dollars home and visit sometime
May be joining u soon overseas to travel and save some pounds or dollars to upgrade my ride ... new M5 maybe? or a 997 when in it arrives in a few years...
1st priority though is to buy some relatively cheap blue chip property in Kaapstad and make a few mill on it in a few years ... hopefully
Well - I often dream of taking the Z06 and the RC45 back to Cape Town and environs just to run through the roads I grew up on.. :)
So - property in the Western Cape carries a premium right now? Really? hhhmmm... I need some "cash vehicle" to use to get my hands on my own Sl500 over the next year....
