"I think it's a Ferrari" won't do in this topic. Each one is a Ferrari. Good luck!

4- 250 GT

callen
04-28-2005, 07:02 PM
The first look like what would have been a 308 concept car.
The fifth I think is a knock off Enzo, looks terrible IMO, and based on the F355?

Thats all I know, and somehow I still think I am wrong

ahaha there's a hint on the 5th one!! The 4 firts letters of "zagato" are on the grass.
I agree with dani_d_mas that it is a FZ93 (it was in Forza #45)

the #15 is maybe a 308 GT Rainbow ...as it is written on the back??

4 and 10 (as submitted by Nuno and SilviaEvo) are indeed 250 GTs but for these one-offs you need to be more specific.
11 is not a 275 GTB/4 NART spyder.

Thanks for the additions, Dani! :D I'll let you call those and won't submit any answers.

4 - 250 GT SWB Lusso Bertone (chassis 326 GT to be more specific :P ).

EDIT:

11 - 250 GT SWB Nembo Lusso Spyder.

Odd how they changed the names; before it was Spyder, now it's Spider. Meh...

EDIT 2:

2 - 166 Mille Miglia Abarth Spyder.

Excellent! Although I do not think the denomination Lusso was used for this car. BTW, you forgot a 9 in the serial number (3269 GT).

The car is not silver anymore, like in the picture. Nowadays it's back to its original dark blue.

EDIT: 11 is also correct! As far as the "Lusso" part concerns, the same goes for what I said about the Bertone.

13 - 308 GT/M

I think someone beat you to 13, but I'll let Dani call that one...

And no, number 10 is definitely not some sort of Superamerica. I can tell you this much about the car, though. Nowadays it's grey and when it started its life it was a very light shade of cream/broken white with a green leather interior. It is the first of two 250 GTs that was made by this carrozzeria. For now I won't reveal any more. BTW, one certain member on this board is excluded from answering question number 10... (you know who you are... )

250 GT Berlinetta Lusso Speciale

All I know is that it was built by Pininfarina and it isn't completley stock...

And if I'm not wrong it was one of Pininfarina's personal cars, but due to the variations (color, etc) I'm not sure... :?

No, it's not a Lusso. It is a 250 GT and its body is by an Italian carrozzeria other than Pininfarina. It's got "prototype E.W." written on the side. E.W. stands for Ettore Wax.

This is what car looks like now.

#9: 330GT 2+2 Michelotti S/N 6109

This one was very hard.

#3 is so ugly no-one wants to put up a photo! :D

# 10 is proving quite tricky. Seems to be some sort of 250, but it can be a a 365 or superamerica too. *frustrated*

So, the only one remaining is that rather ungainly number 3. I'll give you guys a hint: it has a lot in common with number 9.

#3 330 GT 2+2 Series I Drogo Coupe S/N 7979GT

Initially I thought the car may be drogo (I am not a fan and thought they would be capable of destroying a Ferrari this way), but I never found an image, until now.

I have a question - did you get your images from qv500?

stradale
05-13-2005, 05:31 AM
Yes, I did. That's why I thought my hint might work. It's on the same page as the 330 GT 2+2 Michelotti Spyder.

I like some of the Drogo cars though, but I agree this one is horrible.

End result:

1. P6, Dani got it right
2. 166 MM Abarth Spyder, Nuno gave the right answer
3. 330 GT 2+2 Series I Drogo Coupe x/n 7979GT, irrational_i got it right

I found the Drogo on qv500. The Michelotti and Bertone on barchetta.

Probably the most fun thing was researching all the weird Ferraris I found in addition. I have to admit to not knowing about the Nembo Spyders. And I also have to admit that they are more beautiful than the 275 NART Spyders. The curves are stunning.

Thanks for a fun quiz!

There are a lot of special Ferraris, aren't there? :D In the fifties and sixties there were so many different carrozzerias with their own exceptional style. I love that! Also the factory didn't mind supplying rolling chassis' on which the coaches could be mounted. You can't imagine that happening today anymore, even apart from the fact that bodies are a structural part of the car these days.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. So did I.

BTW, I agree with you that the Nembo Spyders are even better looking than the NART Spyders. Did you come across this Nembo when you searched? http://www.auto-salon-singen.de/Cars/Ferrari_250GT_Nembo.htm Nice, isn't it?
There's also a Fantuzzi bodied car that looks a lot like it.

Yes I saw that one. It is very pretty.
Seems to have overtones of both 275GTB and '64 body 250 GTO.

I think the plum-coloured 250 SWB Nembo S/N 3771 pictured in your quiz is the most beautiful one. But I like the blue 330 as well. Not so mad about the red 250TdF one.
