I would of done what you did, but what of the dog?
I would of called any numbers that where on its collar or,called the local animal shelter.

Where I am from, in the country, you let it roam cause you know it isnt far from home, lots are all 10 plus acres, some as much as 100 or more, so the dog has strayed a little, its ok. But on a road where the limit is 90 and in the city, I would pull over, ive done it before :D

To be honest, i'd drive on, who's dog runs away? Ive only known of one case, where we were out shooting and the dog got spooked and ran off, the owner spent teh whole time looking for it.
1. I dont believe our dog would 'run away' given the chance, she's more clever than that.
I slow down for animals, and dont purposely kill or injure them, but i really dont have time for careless owners if im honest. :|

You did the right thing. I've had to do that alot at my old job, for some reason, runways and dogs don't mix.

^^ well you see stray dogs all the time on the road, as do I, but I don't see them on a 90kmph road, that is like seeing a dog on a highway, and not do anything.
If I am driving around town and I see a dog I prob. wouldn't do much, but this is much diff.

Well most stray dogs here do not have a collar with owner details so all you could do is call the pound - which I'm not entirely sure is a good thing :? However in your case you definately did the right thing
I would of done what you did, but what of the dog?
I would of called any numbers that where on its collar or,called the local animal shelter.
did you read this: :?
"Luckely it had a collar and there was a cellphone number on it. Called the owner and after 5 minutes the dog was back where he belonged."

no, i know he gave the dog back, he said the "dog gone awall" I want to know what was wrong with the dog
and the then I said what I would of done (not just pull over but go the extra step)
If I wasnt in a hurry os something i would´ve done the same.

I"d have done the same thing. We had a Sheltie that would constantly get out of yard. But all that stopped when we got him fixed. Turned out his adventures around the neighborhood were ust bitch hunts so to speak
Our male mini schnauzer will sneak out any chance he gets as well, even though he's already fixed. We can't figure out why though. There is no lack of attention or food (actually he has an over abundance of food  ) He's just overly inquisitive i guess :bah:
What i'm getting at is that dogs will go wandering for reasons known only to them.
Anyway, i have stopped in the past and gotten dogs out of the streets. A few months ago it was a daschaund :|

ppuuff! being an ass and just drove on
another dog...
maybe you stopped because it wasn't a stray dog.
but of course I should be in your shoes to decide if I stop or not, and 95% of the times I would not stop
call me an ass, but this city is overcrowded with 3 kinds of animals: dogs, cats and ppl, and I just don't care anymore for a dog

Honestly, I am afraid of dogs. You never know whats in theyr ming. But I would still stop probably, but no chance me getting out of a car in the first place  I would open window to see whats its reaction and if it seems to be a good dog then I would get out and take it to the side of the road. Calling police(if there was no phone on collar) is a must.
That dog would have caused a crash so somebody would be injured or minimum the car would be broken, so Yes for me :P
No wonder you are pissed of guys, most of the people dont care even if they see a man who deffinitly need help for ex. someone fall down on the street, or someone is got biten by some dick/s, or a carcrash etc etc. First thing you do is HELP! Always! That must be a rule written inside of your head. I uderstand it must be a shock for someone seeing blood and stuff, but it is dumb excuse for not helping  :x
