Does anyone know where I may beable to find bodykits for a 1990 Ford Tempo or a Mercury Topaz?

Well I was working on my tempo earlier to take off the Headers Cover I found out the last guy to work on it tightened the bolts with to much torque more than the bolt can handle. So like a dumbass like me I end up taking out all of the bolts and then find out that I broke every bolt except one into the header. My qeustion is, what is the best way to retrieve or destroy the broken off part of the bolt in the cars header?(of course whille not hurting the header).

could you take a picture of it so i can see exactly how the bolts broke off? Break type usually determines extraction method :|

Generally with exhaust, it's not overtightening on installation that makes the bolts seize, it's the corrosion coupled with all the heating and cooling cycles the exhaust system goes through during operation.

I need to clean it out and I will get on the pictures, The guy worked on it not to long ago and the car hasn't been running for over a month now thanks to a broken transmission I need to replace.

Well I would guess that lefthand Drill bits will be the best mwthod for retrieving the bolts. That's better than drilling out the hole and using a heli-coil.

But if he drills off center, then chances are Helicoils aren't going to help. If the bolts broke in the right way, he may be able to use a hammer and chisel to back the broken chunks out.

don't know if that will work for exhaust bolts though. they tend to harden quite a bit more during their life due to the heat treatments they go through

If you know how to weld, you can melt a few beads onto the part that is stuck in the header, then weld a nut to the beads. Then try and unscrew it. It works, I've seen it done.

Although, using a grinder to put a small cut into it and using a screw driver might be a bit easier! LOL

good to hear. I hate drilling out bolts :? co-worker had to drill out a chunk of lug bolt from a hub today. I was just glad it wasn't me :lol:
