Musée International de l'Automobile de Genève

Well, yesterday I had an extra hour to spend in Geneva and I decided to invest the 12 CHF needed to access this museum. It is acutally the biggest of it's kind in Switzerland: 14'000 square meters and 400 cars. Opened in 1995, right now the visits dropped quite a lot! Just to give you an idea, I was there ALONE! It's a paradise of course when you visit such a big place alone, but very sad, because it means it will soon close. So if you will be in Geneva in the near future, pay it a visit untill it is there ;)
it's worth your time if you are a vintage cars lover.
It is not really my case, not for the pre-1960 stuff I'd say.
Actually I was there for the Miura LOL but I took some extra pics... not many of them and the light was really bad.. even the tripod couldn't help that much, I beg your pardon for the picture quality :bah:

Ah no problem. I looked at the info chart thingy and it looks like it says Taleot Lang.

LOL you are smarter than me, I didn't even check if it was possible to read. I think it is actually a Talbot Lago, wich is the manufacturer. The model is the second line, something like T 35 C

There are some really nice Ferraris (Daytona, Testa, Dino, 275GTB...) and Lambos (LM02 and the always-awesome Miura :wink: ). The Mercs roadster... is a 300SL Roadtser??? It's very beautiful!!! And the red Renault 5 Turbo... it's perfect!!! :D

I went there 5 or 6 years... or even more time ago, but it was closed... and the only thing I could see from the door was a red Ferrari F40! If you say the museum will be closed... I'll try to visit it next time I go there. :D

Yes the striped F40 I suppose. Wich I got at the dealership and now should be back with its owner in Monte Carlo I think.

As for the Museum, already now the shortened the opening times I think: Monday and Tuesday it is closed for instance. Wed and Fri: 15:00 to 20:00 and Sat-Sun - 10:00-18:0.
But as I said, judging by the "load" of visitors I saw the other day, its future isn't bright

Nice way to kill some time, TT!

The cars looked to be in pretty good shape, which is not always so in car museums. The highlights for me were the Miura, the 250GT Lusso, the 275 GTS and the Daytona Spider! :D

I'm suprised you haven't been there before - especially considering a Miura is sitting inside :D I also really like the Lusso, still a beautiful shape :D

Must be amazing to take pics in a car museum without people running in front of the camera. I hope they can keep it open for another year, so I can visit it during the next Geneva motorshow :D

Some impressive cars this museum has. Too bad for the big dent in the Miura :(

Well I suppose during the Motorshow days, also the museum has more visits than when I went there, but for sure not THAT many ;)
