Porsche didn't make a 959 Cabrio, so it must have been something else you saw...
... unless it was a custom job
Edit: beat me by a minute, toronto :P

I really hope they didn't screw up a real 959! , I don't think anyone would be that stupid...it must've been something else.
I saw a porsche 959 cabriolet. My brother the same car the other day. Is in theory a porsche 959 cabriolet, white and with the top black canvas put, in mallorca this days. If i can to make a photo with the celular or digital camera.

How 'clean' did it look?
I'm thinking it must be a custom job - which would be a travesty - so im hoping it's a kit... like the NSX -> F50 transformation...

Reading around it does seem there are lots of 959 kits out there, for just about every Carrera ever made.
here's one:

here's a pic:

However, i came across a couple of interesting posts:

There was one Porsche 959 cabriolet built in white, the car was converted by the factory into a cabrio after an unfortunate collision with a truck right after delivery. I think the car is still in Germany though.
Many aftermarket specialist build 959 bodykit that looks like the original but none of the cars have the 959 centerlock wheels.

There was a white 959 convertible. The owner crashed his 959 Coupe on the german autobahn and it was his wish to reconstruct it as a convertible. Porsche said no, that's impossible an so a german Porsche Dealer did this job.
That's the only one 959 Convertible that exists.

Obviously there's no way of telling whether that's true, ive tried to find more about this 'converted 959' online but to no avail. there is a pic of a white 959 Cabrio on google image search (search for 959 cabrio) but it's tiny and looks to me like a 993...
