I am new here, but thought I would share something from where I am coming from. I am Penn State Mechanical Engineering student working on a team of 12 other students building a small (~400 pound) car powered by a 600cc sportbike engine. These cars are needless to say, fast. About 150 schools come to the american competition each year in Detroit and compete in dynamic and design events. Its pretty awesome to get to be apart of racing when your just a poor college student. Anyway UTA (university of texas-arlenton) has a link up of some in car camera videos here.... http://maepro.uta.edu/fsae/newvideo.htm they are one of the better teams out there.

If you want to see how our car is coming along.... go here http://www2.me.psu.edu/sae/fsae/ and scroll right click on a picture to see that live camera. We are always looking for sponsors...hint hint.....

Wish I could watch the 5th gear and top gear in the USA, ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Hello, welcome aboard! I think I already heard about that project somewhere, or maybe there is something similar in Europe, I don't remember. It's anyway a very nice and interesting idea, and a good way to make the first steps into the motorworld, in the most practical way possible, building a car :D
I'm sure you're having lot of fun!

I just watched some vids and the steering response, and grip levels on these cars are amazing. Now just drop a Ducati 999 engine in that thing, put some Michelin slicks on it, lots of aero dynamic grip parts on that baby and your set to rock the world.
