Ok, so we are getting rid of the CL and replacing it with an Audi and i was wondering if you can get a European style plate in the U.S. b/c the New York plates look horrible on the Audi. Normally we wouldn't even put a plate on but recently we have been getting hasseled for it. So if anywould knows of a company that makes custom license plates that would be aswome, thanks :)

why not just cut the top and bottom off the US plate?
There are European plates available, there is a 540 that comes in everynow and then with one. but personally, i think they look kind of retarded in the US :|

Cutting the top and bottom off was the first thing that came to mind, but im not sure if its legal to cut those off. B/c the top says new york and the bottom has the empire state so those are probably somewhat important. IMO i like the style of the European plates, if you have any info on where to get them that would be a big help.

Check with the DMV first, it might not be legal to do so. A friend has German plates on his VW (front only) and it is illegal here, but he has never gotten a ticket for it.

it is possible there is this magazine called Bavarian Motorsport which sells them
Lots of people make them - but they are all illegal in states that mandate front and rear plates.
I feel the smaller US plates are way better than the long euro style ones... I never like the longer plates we had in South Africa.

however longer front plates would save certain cars (RX-8 ) the humiliation of looking like bugs bunny with a front plate hanging over the front air inlet :P

EVO's in europe usually have a more square, 2 line plate on the right or left rather than the usual long plate in the middle ;)

you know the saying...what you cant have you want.
Also i believe that german cars look 20x better with german plates. Also why are you getting rid of the CL? What type of CL is it anyways?
