http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4432279.stm
Transport 2000 wants Top gear off the air , because "it promotes irresponsible driving. "
and they also want the show replaced by "a show that promotes sensible driving in sensible vehicles"

Not that i think it will happen but if top gear has to change cos of these fools heres someone to vent your anger at :P For further information, media representatives should contact Steve Hounsham on 020 7613 0743 extn 106 or 07984 773468 or Stephen Joseph on 020 7613 0743 extn 105 or 07939 584790
BTW how about an online petition to get this presumably government funded body scrapped, i'm sure we can find some good reasons why this should be

Also, there is a discussion forum on the Transport2000 site. Have a look at some of the comments!
Apparently Top Gear is responsible for bad driving.

"A few months earlier the BBC was forced to apologise after the programme's team tested the durability of a truck by ramming it into a 30-year-old chestnut tree, infuriating locals in the Somerset village of Churchill."

Oh this is retarded. I don't want Top Gear to get ideas about how to drive - I have Fifth Gear for that. I funny, thats the point.

Next thing you know, someone is gonna crash their car and blame it on Top Gear. Then it will go to court, some one will get sued, the media will crawl all over this and then the econo driving weenie public will howl in protest 'Shame on Top Gear !'
At least that is how it is usually played out in litigation happy USA.
They are probably funded by Britains Transport Czar, i hate that guy and i dont even live in britain.

I'm really curious what kind of letters F1 and nascar gets after reading that. We should write an e-mail to the person who wrote the letter to BBC and tell them them to stop using paper, recycled or not, since it hurts the enviroment. Little terds!!!

04-12-2005, 09:23 PM
^^^^^^^
nah....
write a letter to them every day, and a similar letter to tree hugging groups saying something like
'if you want the trees of the earth to last a little longer, rid the world of transport 2000. until you complete this task, we, the undersigned will sacrifice box after box of thick, unrecycled paper'

wait, why are they doing this now? Top Gear name's been on BBC for over 15 years and the current version has been running for 3 years now. It's not like Jeremy was an environmentalist and changed suddenly during the shows.

yeeahhhhh....the BBC is going to forgo millions of dollars for the advertising they do during that show  that's about as stupid as every major network botcotting the Super Bowl  Stupid hippies :?

Those SOBs. Transport2000 myass. if they want clean environment, they should kill themselves...
no, really, a human body creates considerable pollutants, not to mention that the computer and servers they're using uses electricity, which is made by polluting the environment, the food they eat or the all the things they use in life were probably transported by means of truck or ships or planes, which ruin the environment, if they were to make their own stuff, that would create pollution, refrigerator emissions destroy the ozone layer, the microwave destroys things, propane gas is too dangerous, sex is dangerous, fun is dangerous,...it's all bullcrap
pimrusis
04-13-2005, 11:58 PM
I think the environmentalists are just made because Jeremy proved that their long hair - and they have long hair, because they are hippies - costs them alot of money in fuel. They feel they need to recify this by tormenting petrolheads.

no way this will ever happen at the most they might be required to stick a warning at the beginning like on jackass and shows like that but i seriously doubt this show will be canceld in the near future, its just bad for business

This is really idiotic. Why don't you and ban F1, the WRC and all other racing series while your at it.
If they could, they would.

Sure, lets ban Top Gear. I mean, before Top Gear existed there was no reckless driving...
Ah, and just in case, here's Stephen Josheps's (Executive Director) email adress:

if you go here:
http://www.transport2000.com/
You can read all of the comments that have been posted to these people about their claims against Top Gear. 95% of the poeple disagree with their fight against Top Gear and almost all of these comments are backed up with realivant facts.
I can realize why some organization trying to ban the show could raise such a fuss, especially when reading into it a bit deeper, it was just the opinion of a few people that work at Transport2000 that started this whole thing, not the whole company. That being said, I really don't give the poeple at Transport2000 much credit in their claims or much of a chance AT ALL of ever getting Top Gear off the air.
I don't take it too seriously, and suggest the best course of action here is just to laugh and think about how lame people have to be to come up with things like this to bitch about.
