its saying on ITVnews in UK that the threat of a Tsunami is now over :? But still if I was anywhere near a beach I'd be heading towards some mountains right now :!:

It was confirmed a little while ago that the earthquake (which was 8.7 on the richter scale) had not caused a repeat tsunami-like wave. Thank fuck thats all i can say.
Many of the inhabitants took the inivtiative and go tthe fuck out of the towns as soon as the quake had stopped. They all headed to higher ground causing midnight traffic jams, thankfully, all in vain.

I believe another quake was expected in this area (aftershock), but I don't think the scientists expected one this big. Usually aftershocks aren't that big.

Nah - that's their problem. :fist:
A great earthquake occurred at 16:09:36 (UTC) on Monday, March 28, 2005. The magnitude 8.7 event has been located in NORTHERN SUMATRA, INDONESIA. (This event has been reviewed by a seismologist.)
If seismologists call it the a great quake... a great quake it is. :)
