I have a whole bunch of invites lying around, and I have no more use for them. First 10 ppl who ask will get an invite, if more than 10 ppl want an invite ill give out more later on (it will be easier for me this way if I give them out 10 at a time). For those of you who don’t know what gmail is, it is a beta email which is made by google, it gives you 1 gig of storage and lets you send attachments up to 10 mb in size.

PLEASE remember to leave your email along with your post so I can send you an invite.

didn't they launch it yet?
I got mine along time ago, and I think they launched it like a month ago, I might be wrong

beta version, and I still have 50 invitations, so I can give one to almost a 1/4 of the Dl/ul members, or any other jw member
of course you must have in mind that gmail "reads" your emails so it can post ads

Me too. It's reliable and it automatically filters spam to a seperate folder which is very comfortable. Plus 1GB in space is nice :D

Anyone who hasn't been able to get Gmail invites about now is the biggest noob in the history of internet.

The service though seems reliable, no problems or complaints here...

I don't know why this turned into a debate about how good or bad gmail is, i just meant to send invites to who ever hasn't received one. w.e who ever wants one just pm me, please remember to leave ur email address along with ur msg.

BTW pimrusis you sent me a pm asking about an invite, do you still want one? because you didn't leave me your email and you haven't replied back to my pm.

any who, take care.

You would do well to research what Google intends for the GMail service.

Quite eye opening.

Ranges from retaining all email ever sent/received (even if you delete it) as well as all contacts and addressees, to making such data available to 3rd parties for data mining and even available to law global law enforcement.

An example of the "power of GMail":

So you send an email to you buddy with a link to your FTP server - and you copy your other buddy... and the RIAA or whom ever wants Google to provide data on regular keyed searches... you end up as part of the search result, including all the people in your address list.

There are many other examples.

Suffice it to say I and many associates have ceased using Gmail.

Just not worth it in the long run - knowing your email data/address lists and other data is up for sale to the highest bidder.

Who is against GMail? Mind telling me why? I mean, I have my gmail accnt which I never use, but the reason is because I already have settled with hotmail and having a change of address is a bitch.

Who here actually has reasons as to why gmail sux?

most of what you just said is used my many internet providers,

and all this info about them giving you up to RIAA and so on doesn't bother me, cause is in good ol' Canada I have rights and any Info that is given on the internet by me, or my provider (ip ect) can not hold up in court. the best the people can do is as my provider not to serve me anymore, but why would my provider do that, I give them money every month like clock work :D

^^^ you miss the point.

Your loss not mine.

Do yourself a favour and visit the link BAD posted... http://www.google-watch.org and enlighten yourself.

I use RIAA as an example - but the same would be true of Interpol buying search data/results and connecting the dots between some Libyan terrorist and your email because you know someone who sent an email and has you in their address book.

Besides simply selling the CONTENTS of your mailbox and your address list to a 3rd party....

*shrug*

^^ true but i only use gmail for things done over the internet, not for anything else (bus.. per...) so I am really not that woried (not that you care) so they can sell my gmail email to some porn company that send me an email and the spam filter moves it away :D

as for the terrorist link, I am kinda already on that lol :P
last time I crossed into the US, the man at the gate asked me "what is the UAE" (it was stamped in my passport) I told him it was a country, he told me it was a terrorist group and I will be watched... ok :D
