came across this website and had to share.

http://www.weberprecision.com/

some guy took the time to build a 5.655 cubic inch V8 that actually runs. :!: there is a video on the webpage, as well as all the specs on the engine. its supercharged too lol.

also the video is a little bit finiky, it took me a couple of tries to get it to work. try right clicking on the screen and hitting play or refreshing the page to get the video to come up. its worth a look.

hopefully not a repost

I love this kinda thing

I remember seeing a turbojet engine on a bench being run, it was about 2" diameter across at the front! Great for an RC plane!

Haha that's awesome, i want one!

Sorry for the minot hijack, but i guess it's quite relevant: I remember seeing a video (Clarkson, i think) about a guy who'd built an exact, running scale model of one of an old Ferrari 312PB. EVERYTHING worked, from the engine, to the gearbox, even down to the dials on the dashboard which can't have been more than 10mm diameter. The whole car was only about 2 feet long. And he'd made all the parts himself. I'll see if i can find a website about it...

EDIT: Ok so my dimensions were a little off, it's a 1/3rd scale model.

How come he can't keep the rev up for a little longer..??
Would it over heat and blow up ?? :?:

And it's just great that he build it even if you can't use it .. The sound that this small V8 makes makes me happy.

Yeah i remember that, was the coolest thing at the time. when i was about 11.

Now though i can't see why he diddn't make it 3 times bigger and drive the bloody thing! Too much free time!

Yes, that video is amazing! I found it, but it's bad quality. Still very much worth it though.

Sweet.... I wonder how many ponies it pushes out? Any guesses? Also, how much more can you compress alchohol before it becomes unstable than premium gas?

damn, a 25 pound v8 engine....

This guy went bananas! I too build scale models, and I won trophies with them and published articles on them, but that's just too much! It would be cheaper just to get the real thing.
As for the mini-V8 - I would like a mini 4-cyl boxer, to power my cell-phone. That would be cool

A little RC dragster would be awesome, with parachute.
