Posted on behalf of a follow WRX-er.

He was kind enough to post me some before and after pics of the tires I'm intrested in putting on my car. I thought the people here intrested in auto-X might be intrested, remember that tires are the most important tunable part of a cars handling!

These tires are tough but as you can see track days are expensive!

Well the tyres went pretty well. That is my first time back out since my new strut, spring and tyre combo and I managed to drop my time by about 1 second. The new spring strut combo seems to have put a bit of understeer back into the car so the tyres are what dropped my time really and did result in more chewing of the tyres than can be expected. Having said that I was stuffing around with pressures and never got them right, it was bloody hot out there as well. The beauty of them is that you can swap them from left to right to even up the wear.

^yep as Ghostbat said that is the front tire, what your seeing is the left hand indicator that looks like a rear taillight.

Acutally the tire wear when i'm looked at mime is impressive. the reason i was looking at these tires because hard conering really chews the shoulders of the tires, mine are quite bad and had to pump up the tires to 36 PSI to minimise shoulder wear.
These tires are tough and the shoulders as you can see withstand the punishment. Unfortuantly I only have 7'' rims I need 7.5'' rims to fit 225 tires, so I have to hunt down some STi rims.

did you work 4 Bridgestone ..?
Why would I try to sell tires to a kid that doesn't have a car?

That looks like a STi?

i see Brembos....*..drooooll...*

Those are semi slicks i think, they are sold only on the STi's. I poked my nail into one and it just swallowed it, so soft and smooth. The Falken Azenis are also a great option....We had a set on our STi and it gripped liked crazy, they were ST-115 if i remember correctly.

those are found stock on spec c and nsx-r

Azenis comes in 2 main flavours ... ST115 mainly for streets, not for tracks use as they "melts" there.

another which is like a semi slick

Yep an 02STi

Its an OEM tire specifically designed for the 05STi but you can buy it from bridgestone @$325 a corner.

Yeah the Falken Azenis are a great semi-track tire I was looking at the RT215, same compound as the ST115's. Might be a better cheaper option @$220 a corner.

But in a month the RT615 comes out

I have RE010s on my Integra R, and they perform similar at trackdays -

This is a front after a day at Oulton Park (UK)

And this is a rear from the same day... its a bit too big to post into here directly:

They get a bit hot under extreme conditions, like chasing two M3s for ten laps ;) but overall I was quite pleased with the results.

I assume RE070s are a similar compound?

^lol Baz those rears really do looked fooked allright, was it after rotation? why are the shoulders so bad at the rears? Extreme heat and excess tire pressure?

the rears are so bad because I was letting the backend hang out on the tighter bends/chicane etc  The Integra does like to drift if you lift off at the right moment (or wrong moment)... :D

Umm why do u call them tires if u from Syd ;)

They dont look that bad, how many laps did he do? I seen worst from track days.

My OEM Bridgestone VR's lasted 50000km with 2 nails in them :D not really a track person but if i did do track work reg I would go out and get track day semi-legal tyres.

You mentioned he is running a MY02, on MY05 tyres, did he notice a large difference between the original OEM's and these for everyday use and wet weather?
