Looking around for some pics of the 250 Cali Spyder...I came across supercars.net pics...they feature two different 1958 models for the same car...

Here's the link...http://www.supercars.net/cars/1958@$Ferrari@$250%20California%20Spyderx.html

I know the one on the left is the one...bue what's the other one? did they make two versions?

I'm not an expert, but as far as I know they made the Series I California Spyders and in 1960 showed the SWB Spyder (with 280bhp and a 200mm shorter wheelbase) at that years Geneva Motor Show  So yes it seems there was two models.....but I'm not 100% certain if the second one in your pics is this one :?

EDIT: I just had a closer look at the pics, I doubt the second one is a SWB Spyder....they didn't look that much different from the LWB (Series I) :?

THere other one is a long wheel base version. Except the LWB should have a bumper, so the one in the picture might be a european version withouht a bumper.

Both cars are 250 California spyders, the one on the left looks like a SWB (1960-1963) and the one on the right a LWB (1958-1960). The fact that the one on the right doesn't have bumpers has got nothing to do with whether it's a European ot American car. My guess is that this car has racing history in American sportscar races, which is why the bumpers were removed.

Hey dude, You can find some very useful data on the issue here: http://www.qv500.com/ferrari250californiap1.php and here: http://www.qv500.com/ferrari250californiap3.php

Generally qv500's got some very good info on the classic Ferrari' (that's my main source on the subject as well ;) )

There are several versions, SWB or LWB, with or without covers on the lights...
