Melb GP Who is going?

Ok its less than 2weeks to go now till the start of the Season!!!

Just wondering if any other JW members are going to MelbourneGP??

I will be on the 1st corner in the Jones stand another friend is in a corp box near pit exit. This will be my 6th Melb gp.

I love the sound of F1 cars, I dont wear earplugs and the experience live is 100000x better than TV(as long as u sit infront of large monitors haha) and the city is a buzz and partying everynite.

I hope local hero Mark Webber Wins or orfocouse Schumie :D

I would love to go but it all ends up being too expensive when you factor in airfares, accomodation, tickets, food and drinks :( If you live in Melb its obviously great since you don't have to pay outrageous prices for accomodation during GP week :)
I hope Webber wins of course, though I doubt he will be in a position to do so until a few more races with the team :wink:

Yep im going...can't bloody wait too...fantastic event...don't know where im sitting just yet...Hopfully Webber has a good result in his first race for Williams, but the team im really backing is BAR...Go Button, Go Sato... 8)

p.s - SPEEDCORE you going to the annual Easternats held at Sandown...its during easter (derrr)... :lol:

Dingo, we book 6mths ahead soo actually its not that bad esp sharing accom, etc, thou I know airfare from Perth to eastern states is $$$

Im in the process of buying a digital camera and one of my mates has a Canon 20D soo plenty of pics :D

Im going! flights and seats have all been booked, same with accomodation. Sitting in the senna stand. :P

Yeah 1st time I went I was in Senna stand, also been in Moss, Brabham and Waite stands. Yeah Im flying down 3rd and staying till monday.

We usually goto the melb motorshow on the monday.

i have considered going to the Mylasian GP, because it's just as close and probley the same price.

Senna stand is across from pit entrance and is on last corner, soo u get some good pics. Usually race wise that corner isnt full of race mishaps but still in qualifying when they do push hard soo u might see an off.

Usually in practise I usually walk to different corners or the straight at the back is grass so u can see them at 300+km'h.

Malysia GP is about the same price, I always wanted to go, but since its soo close to Melb GP its hard to find others willing to go.

Yup...im going with a bunch of mates.....unfortunately, no stands for us...just general admission ... hehe... cant afford 12 gradnstand tix...BUT.. shud be awesome.. my 4th aus gp ...

Still looking for a new interesting place to sit.

Not really, some support races but no F1 cars. We usually spend Thursday's just checking out the seats and buying merchandise(all good stuff is usually gone by Friday/sat) then party all nite :D

haha mate i think we are in the same stand, i am in the fosters coperate box just as last year!
i dont mind the grand prix at all :) especially when you go in style like this

ok i dont know if you have been before, but surrounding the track a fucking massive wire fences, so even if you are in a stand you will not be albe to see over them. I say this because if you try and tack pictures with an automatic camera it will just focus on the fence and you will get lots and lots of pictures of fences. lol to over come this, pre focus the camera on the track and you should be able to blur the photos out if you use a high enough f-stop

Yeah they put in 5m+ fences the year after that marshall was killed. We got our seats as high as possible this year so we mite get lucky. If not ill have to give your method(cho_888) a try :)

Ohh noone is allowed on the bridge on Sunday :( the closest vantage point is like 100+m from the bridge. Soo I dunno if I go now see if i wake up in time :)

you cannot see anything on the bridge, it is all boarded up. The senna stand is not bad, it is on the last corner if i remember correctly. '

No I meant the Harbour Bridge. not the bridge over the track. Thats the best sound by the way, walking over it when the F1 cars drive past :D

oh ok lol woops. i got my tickets today. They come in a packpack, and the ticket is an A4 size letter addressed to me.
