Some of you will have seen coombsie's post about the testing of our old Formula Student at Bruntingthorpe a couple of weekends ago. Thought some of you might like to see some shots of the new car we're building - rolling chassis was completed this week, so here are a couple of shots of her. Let me know if you'd like to know a little more about her (she's called "Fiona")....

I think your radiator mount needs a little work ;)

seriously, it looks very smart, although I'm suprised the links for the rear anti roll bar are so small, they look like matchsticks  .. still I guess in such a light weight vehicle the roll bar isnt very stiff anyway

^^ Its an intercooler, and yeah your right  .
I said the same to the designer about the rear anti roll bars, but he assures me that they will take the force, i cant see them buckling, mearly the threads in the ends shearing, but they'll be fine. And actually the roll bar is pretty damn stiff! It surprised me! But nothing is totally complete really, so its hard get a proper perspective on it all yet, but i recon she's gunna be a force to recon with at the competition this year. :)

   Hmmmm, there is going to be one, when the suspension guys make it  .
We have the full final design of the whole car in Solid Works, just everything isnt quite made in real life yet!
And we are finding that working with ideal computer models is a tad easier than real world components that come out a little off here and there! A bit of hacksawing/filing here and there made sure she fit together as intended! :D
