From Thomas Bscher (L'Auto-Journal)
2 : 2 cars every week
3 : 3 seconds for the 0-100 km/h
7 : Ferdinand Pïech put a deposit for the chassis n° 7 (for his wife); his favorite number
17 : the time for the 0-300 km/h.
26 : 26 liters/100 km fuel consumption
50 : number of persons in the Molsheim factory
100 : liters of on-board liquids (oil, water ...) and also 100 liters of fuel
392 : the speed reached by the last prototype.
800 : the weight (in kilos) of the engine-gearbox group
1950 : the weight (in kilos) of the car with a target of 1900.
1.000.000 : € , the definitive price (without VAT).
If I am correct, the 0-300 km/h of the McLaren F1 was 22.3 so 17 s is the number which impress me the most ... with the weight which is absurdly high.
Anyway, I love this car ...

800 : the weight (in kilos) of the engine-gearbox group <-- they're using a couple of truck engines ? LOL
lol the engine weighs just 135kg less than my whole car,LOL

WHAT?? 1950 Kilos!
I was expecting it to be heavy, but not that much...
Apart from the horsepower and 0-300kmh numbers, this car doesn't impress me at all. Give me an Enzo or a Carrera GT instead.
Useless car IMO...

will see,how fast it in real, is brutal fast, but very heavy, but how it can be in corners,

The gearbox seems to be the issue...I'm not sure about its weight but it is said to cost roughly 100k pounds ,however, it is capable of handling torque of 1700NM on the other hand hence there is space for additional upgrades. :)

Dan \/6, how the...? Haha

Fuck! That thing is waaaaay too heavy, that is a boat. I can't believe their target was 1900kg...jeez, talk about aiming high.
Give me a CGT over this any day...proper gearbox, N/A engine, better looks, will murder it in any corners, not grossly overweight...
Glad to see they have amended the ludicrous 0-300km/h time to something more reasonable.

Very interesting figures. Thanks for sharing. The ones that intrigue me are:
17s to 300kph - that's mad quick
50 ppl in Molsheim - how does that compare to, say, pagani, mclaren, koenigsegg (more than koenigsegg i'm pretty sure).
392: kph - that's faaaast. i wonder how fast a production model will be.... (i can't wait for the test....)

this car and that weight will not suitable for almost any track. A dull comparison could be with the SLR, too heavy but has the enormous power to be almost as fast as a CGT
the veyron will be a train, high speeds in an interstate highway, but try to stop it
will be a great car, but the single purpouse of the car is speed
hmmm....the numbers i know are NOT 1900kg. I met with someone who works for VAG administration and has been inside the Veyron, and knows details about its testing....and the numbers he said were around 1500-1600 KG for the current prototype. His information is very up to date.
as for the car, it's gonna kick everything's ass...completely. I'm sure of it ;)
Straight from VAG, the price is said to be 1.2 Million Euros, not 1.0m.
I find it possible...The Veyron is definitely going to be relatively heavy but those 1950kg are way too much...And I also agree that it might kick every ass in straight line but I'd still take a Zonda F CS over it. :)
Give me the F1 over this, or a Koniegsegg or a Zonda.

I'm with you. The Veyron won't have a chance on the track compared to the Zonda, Enzo, CGT etc.

Ditto, i don't think that has a chance of hell of being able to lug 1950kg round a corner in any sort of decent manner, and putting the power down can't be easy either. You can't strap a jet engine to a oil tanker and then go "oh look, aren't we clever, look at all our power". Time will tell...but give me a Zonda/Enzo/CGT/CCR over it any day
I'd much rather buy one of the wheels and get myself a 993.....
1900+ kilos is just tooooo much....imagine how this will corner...It'll need brakes the size of saturn's rings....

The 0-300 km/h time is mind-blowing, let´s hope it´s for real :|

don't get me wrong, i LOVE the Zonda.....but i think this Veyron is going for something completely different. It's a different kind of car...not just a supercar, but i think they're trying to push the limit of car production.
the 1950 kilos just isn't possible...that's just too much. i think the estimate of 1500-1600 that i've heard from company people is close...and worse comes to worse, it will be around 1600kilos.
Hmm, 1500kg? Is that a completely dry weight with no interior or something? That seems too light for a car with that much torque and AWD. Especially if you consider an Enzo with fuel and fluids weighs more than 1500kg...
Personally, I think 1800-1900kg sounds just about right for that VW product...they like their cars heavy, and I don't see why it would be any different for this car. I could be completely wrong, but I think there is about as much chance it will weigh 1500kg as it will out-handle any of the current supercars... :P

This car was made just to brake records :? I don't think it could give such a driving pleasure as other supercars. It's just about feelling all that power
The numbers are completely insane, but..... who will be crazy enough to reach the max speed ??? Clarkson said there was no track in the world long enough to test the max speed :o :o :o :o :o
And with all the problems during the development, I don't have much faith in this car.
If it would beFerrari making it, I would have a diferent opinion
And BTW Does anybody knows how much Veyron's will be produced ??? :?:

Of course there will be a track long enough to test the top speed, the torque on this thing will most probably make it hit its top speed before the Mclaren hit 231mph. This thing will obliterate performance figures for well into the future, more so than the Mclaren F1

Sounds like overkill to me!
This car IMO is trying to be a jack of all trades (sports car, luxury car, fastest car, etc.)....yet it doesn't do anything exceedingly well! There are better choices in the marketplace that fit the roles that the Veyron is trying so hard to accomplish. As someone else has stated before: The Veyron is the equivalent of a top-heavy busty bimbo, while other supercars such as the CGT, Enzo, or McF1 are more like voluptuous dancers....hmmm, which would you prefer?

1900kg.... this sounds more like a realistic weight, especially considering the engine/gearbox weighs 800kg... nice stats but its not gonna handle as well as other supercars.... we'll see what the actual weight is very soon...

100 : liters of on-board liquids (oil, water ...) and also 100 liters of fuel
100 liters of oil and water + 100 liters of fuel ??
That's more than 200kg in liquids!! How can the car be light....
Why so much oil and water???

The weight of this thing is quite obviously a cause of alot of problems. As insane a car this could/will be who has the tracks to unleash its potential.

jeez... i doubt that this will be a successful car... too much oooommph IMO!
1950KG isn't much actually.... 16 cylinders, the weight of the various lubricants/oil! wonder how many they'll make and what their target is. gues its time to check out their website... :)

According to my knowledge it will be in the range of 1500-1800 kg. Don´t know the exact weight though.
@dani_d_mas
The car actually has a torque of 1250nm. He just said the gearbox could handle 1700
