Not bad. . . love that new 3.0L engine. Still can't get used to the looks though. Too bad, it would've been such a great car if the looks feel inline with the mechanics.

There's a second review in the same issue, except it was by Tom Ford, in Germany, but WITHOUT active steering. He said that without it, it makes the E46 feel sluggish, and that the new 3-series is just better than the E46 in every aspect... meaning it's way way ahead of the competition again.

In fact, he said that it feels like the 3L isn't doing the chassis justice... so much that it makes you think that the upcoming M3 will be unbelievable, to the point of dreaming.

BMW wins with the 3. Again.

Interesting comments on the active steering. Not too many journalist like it for some reason. (never got the chance to try one, but drove BMWs without, the weight of the steering on the 3-series E36 is the best IMO)

I used to hate active steering until I did 20-ish laps with new 330 on the track drifting. When you get used to it, it's great, but I'm still not sure if I'd want it in my street use car ...

What exactly are you saying here? ...Seeing as you are directly copying the articles first sentence? :?

OT: It's great news that BMW have its mainstayer car performing well. Any idea on what the coupes will look like, or when rumoured to be released? Thanks for the link EVO :)

Yes. And I like it, because it staxed small (not getting bigger by 25 cm each generation) and sporty, as a 3 series should ...

E92 for now. Supposedly after BMW has released all the 335d (twin turbo diesel) in the UK.

Touring comes in Frankfurt (so ion market on the end of year), Coupe and CC (which will not be called 4 series, as it was originaly planned like with 6 series) come next year (CC earlier, coupe probably later). M3 in early 2007 (I hope).
