Does it accelerate from 0 - 100 kph in 4.7 seconds or 3.8 seconds ? or even another time ? thx..

Ferrari states 3.8 (but I think that's the 0-60mph time, not sure). But that depends a lot on the car and especially the tyres.
All the F40's are different from eachothers...so you can't really say that 3.8 (or any other number) is the time.
The 4.7 time is for the 288GTO.

Road & Track tested it years ago and they published 3.8 seconds in the mag (0-60 mph) 8)

If I'm not mistaken the official (= Ferrari claimed ;)) 0-100 km/h time of the EU spec F40 was 3.9 seconds.

That seems reasonable then:
0-60mph: 3.8seconds
0-100kph (62mph): 3.9 seconds.

Exactly the same difference as claimed in terms of the Enzo : 3,55/3,65

3.8s for 430 is an optmistical number.... 490 HP (sure 450 effective on wheels ), not turbo... great car, but I think it's can do not better of 4.1-4.2

And he is probably right. Two American magazines already recorded a 3.5s time from 0-60 mph (which I think is too optimistic), so a 3.8 to 100kmh should be possible.
Remember that Ferrari's claim is without Launch Control...
Anyway, we're talking about 2/3 tenths of a second, which is irrelevant IMO.

After quick verification, I'm sure an F40 does 0-100Km/h in about 4.5 seconds and believe me it's not that slow :) ... for you knowledge an F50 run it in 3.9s :wink:

Where did you get that info (just curious)?
Like have been said before, Ferrari claims 3.9 for the F40 and 3.7 for the F50.
And I've seen those numbers confirmed by some magazines.
But then again, I've also seen some 4.x numbers.

4X times! I'm surprised about it. I've seen these times in every mags and Ferrari books I red, but I confirmed with the first one I found , it's called "Models Ferrari".

Well after more investigation on the web I didn't found any informations that can confirm my data :( but have a look to that F40 http://www.mcarsweb.com/ferrari/f40.htm ...much more faster that an enzo :lol:

Yeah, I see... Like I said before the F40 0-100 times varies a lot.
1st: The Lightweight package: a factory option that brings the weight even further down. Around 50Kg, if I'm not mistaken...
2sd: Tyres. Since we're talking about a old car, newer tyres will make a big diference.
And then the usual factors that influence every car's time.
As for the F50, a 3.9 is only 0.2s off, so it seems reasonable.
EDIT: Haha, 3.5...

Clarkson is always wrong(almost :) )...And it doesn't surprise me since he's a guy who calls the Enzo the F60. :)
