Would be nice to have "a pop-up" description when you hover with your mouse over a discussion topic. What I mean, is to have a few first lines of first message show in same style as when you hoover with your mouse over a picture. In HTML it's called "description" property of pic tag.
Anyway, we have it at our local forum (http://www.carsforum.co.il) and it's makes your life a lot easier. You just hoover over a topic subject and decide wherever you want to read it further. Previous version of that forum have been written in PHP, and it was also possible to see a few first lines of a first msg.

Its possible but personally I think its annoying feature. I visit a forum that does that and I find it always popping up a little box for the wront topic and thus impeeding my ability to click the topic below thats the one I acutally wanted.

Of course if others like it im sure it can be put in the mix to be added.

Its a pretty good idea lev_p, but personally I agree with fishfreek and also I think the topic title usually gives a pretty good idea of what the topic is about :D

like fishfreek said possible BUT I also find it annoying, and the extra d/b queries are just going to slow the forum down so I dont think its a good idea :wink:

umm ... imo ... itwould be kinda annoying .... why ... cuz when eva yea move the cursor .. a popup would open ... its like a duck quacking .... and you dont want a duck quacking all the time :wink: .... and if you increase the time of opening the popup .. u'll prolly die of annoyance ... like. .. open up already ... :P :lol: :wink: :mrgreen:
