I just got firefox a little while ago and I like it exept that I can't right click on a video link and save target as. When I go to Racing flix and try to right click the dl video link it wants to save it as a text doc. And if I left click it just streams the video. Does anyone know a plug-in or something that can help me? But sometimes I just left click on a link and it asks me to open with wmp. How come it doesn't do this all the time?? :?: :?:

NOOOOOOO!! not microsoft!!, IE is a piece of shit! so slow ass. I use firefox and to download usually i press open in new tab.... then when prompted select "save to disk" This may take some time to open the box on racing flix unless you like paying to watch copyrighted material  its soooo slow the only thing it ever did good for me was bring me here :D :D **EDIT** Just tried that method on RF and it worked fine

when you right click and it wants to save it as a text doc, don't worry about it and save it. that's just some file recognition mistake, and when you save it it ends up being the right kind of file.
If you want it to not stream the video on left click and come up with a prompt to open or save, go to Tools>Options, click the Downloads topic on the left, and in the file types list find the ones you want to have a prompt for and delete it or change the associated action.
I have firefox so I've run into the same problems...

i've actually come across the text documents that download, and actually end up as text documents. for that i'll just use IE.

i've had the same problem but only recently. It even happens with Mozilla. To get around it i just use an external download manager such as LeechGet. It automatically downloads when i click the link. no more wierd txt crap

nice never heard of LeechGet. I personally use getright, but its not tied into my browser atm. BTW did any of the other stuff I mentioned work out?

haven't used Getright for a few years. has anything changed. I like Leechget since its free and has a simple quick interface + tray icon download.
When i do a Right click --> Save As.. It downloads fine. The text thing occurs only when i click directly on the link. It even happened with an .swf today

have you tried changin the preferences like I mentioned? If you do that, when you right click a file you should get a prompt as to save it or open it
