I was just thinking about this and I think that when the F430 will enter the N(GT) classes it will be a serious threat. Think about it. It comes stock with the trick diff and paddles(much more improved paddles). It has 480bhp stock! Great chassis, much more downforce then the 360...Thats a big bonus because it will be legal to run all that stuff in race

It has serious race car potential...and its scary.

I think that Ferrari will win all the major sports...It will continue domination in the GT class, and with the F430 I believe they will do the same thing.

To bad no American team wants to enter FIA GT :?

And ALMS looks doomed in my eyes. I think they DB9s will be there for a short while and then they'll leave just like the prodrives..........

What do you all think?

We'll have to wait and see if teams like JMB decide to give it a go or not. Ferrari didn't make a 360GTC or NGT car untill JMB proved it was worthy. I don't think they'll fire out a GT version of the F430 untill someone else proves it worthy of doing so.
As for American Teams in FIA, it's too expensive. The teams there just bounce around their back yard, whereas teams from here have to cross the pond who knows how many times throughout the season. An american team could go there and do it, but it'll need some major funding to get started.

As for ALMS being doomed, I told you before, I think you are completely wrong. This season is shaping up to be quite nice in all classes.
As for how long the Astons will last, who knows. Depends on their success, and it won't be easy for them. Saleens now on Michelins are faster than ever, 2 C5R's, 2 C6R's. The Astons are still only slated to run Sebring this year, so, we'll have to make guesses after that race. BTW, the Astons are from Prodrive!

Looks liek we have a good race year shaping up... i wonder if we will geta late entry with the F430, but i assume we wont see one until the 06 season... thats ok i agree with sfdmalex its specs indicate it will be deadly! :D

So do I, but who will be the first to take a chance with an undeveloped racecar? I doubt it will be Ferrari themselves.

I really hope its going to be good, cause I have nothing else besides F1 to watch...but I can only be pesimistic about the GTS division the way its been lately...when the Prodrives entered for a few races they showed they can give the Vettes good competition and then they were gone.....and then the Murc came and it's slow as hell.......And the last few races I watched it was like 4 cars in GTS................

It doesn indeed look good for the upcoming season but I still dont have a good feeling about it.....I doubt the DB9s will be of any competition...and then all we have left is the C5Rs and the Saleens(which should be a good challenge to the C5Rs) and then the C6Rs which I think will be slow for a while..........

Towards the end of the last season, the GTS class was lacking in entries. Prodrive dropped out because it was simply cheaper for them to race in the LMES.
The Lambo was entirely too new and underfunded. Krohn blames it on Lambo for not holding up their end of the deal. My guess is the Krohn didn't want to pony up the cash to develop the car themselves. I would not be surprised to see it make a comeback after one of the other teams in FIA gets them sorted out.

The GTS (GT1 now) class has a possible 8 full season entries.
2 C6R's
2 C5R's with Mid America Motorsports
1 C5R with Pacific Coast Racing (a new developement, I'm not 100% sure)
1 ACEMCO Saleen S7
2 Maserati MC12 (there is word of the ACO giving them a 1 year exemption)

There will be 12 entries at Sebring. 8 entries for the full season isn't a shitload, but it's better than 3 or 4 with the Vettes dominating everything.
I honestly do not know how well the Astons will do, but I'm certainly excited to see them race.

So, now we have completely derailed the thread! LOL

I'm sure we'll see the F430 race eventually, but I'm not expecting them for another year or two.

umm F430 in FIA GT? It will destroy everything.

And ALMS sucks lol its basically to FIA GT like what Champ Cars/IRL is to F1

The F430 in GT racing is definitely something I look forward to! :P
With such a potent street car, the racing version is gonna force the other manufacturers back to the drawing boards, which to me is great for the sport.
I just hope the other manufacturers/teams are gonna be ready for the incoming Ferrari threat, as much as I love Ferrari, another Ferrari domination situation ala Formula 1 is not something I wanna see!

It hope it will hapen.

However if it does, it won't be in the near future I think. Ferrari are focused on F1, so it's up to the privates...

But yeah, it's quite scary if you think about it:

The Porsches are making around 420 Nm of torque and 460hp...and the F430 makes 465Nm and 490hp...stock. Quite an advantage I'd say. Especially if you take into acount that the new GT3 should have "only" 3.8L of capacity.

Lets hope someone takes the chance...

Hmmmm, anyone taken into accounts any of the stringent regulations and restrictors imposed in GT racing.
The 360 GT car is a fuck load different to the 360 road car, and as a result would entirely dick on an F340 road car.
The GT car they develop would be a very different animal altogether, and that 360 GT is pretty special as it is ( the quickest in the british GT championship didnt use flappy paddle as its shite, they use a proper racing dog sequential unit).

You cant compare road car and race car, they vary in too many ways.
