This morning I went out with my camera and because I didn't find any good car I decided to make a report of my city. (I know, it's nothing related to cars, so TT I would understand if you lock this topic  ). I rambled around the inner city and have shot the most beautiful parts of it. Hope you enjoy:

IMO this house is the most beautiful in Girona. It is linked to the gardens of the Cathedral by a little bridge:

Why to lock it? I never went to Girona and I always enjoy photography :D the subject doesn't have to always be a car :D

I thank you for this report dude! It's a lovely town!

Beautiful scenery you are lucky to live there.

Thanks very much for sharing the photos. Any hi-res of the cityscapes or the house linked to the cathedral?

As for cars, surely you can find some nice alfas, punto HGTs, seat cupras to photo? classic cars?

Yeah I want to see Barcelona especially. Dingo I also wouldn't mind seeing more of South Perth. We should all make new topics with our hometowns/areas as the title.

Maybe we could ask the admins if it warrants its own section on JW - if every regular does it we will be looking at a ton of threads.

some of those pics reminded me of when i went to Granada this past summer, only spent a day there but its very nice and i intend to go back there in the possibly near future so i can spend more time there. i also stopped by in Seville which is very nice.

It can be similar because the inner city of all of them have a medieval atmosphere, but the architecture is rather different. Granada and Sevilla medieval buildings were built under the arabic influence, while Girona mainly has a romanesque architecture, with the exception of part of the Cathedral.

Lovely pics! I like those Southern Europe cities located in a mountain landscape. We don't really have mountains over here. So thats maybe the reason why I like them :D

I posted a few of my own some weeks ago over here (http://www.motorworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=21870). Those are night pics, and I didn't have a tripod. Maybe I should take some during the day. The problem is during the day there are always many people around, so it's a bit harder to take some good pics. But I'll try ;)

Yep another option we considered, it risks to become a bit messy actually. For now let's go with separate topics :)

I think keep them in different topics it's the best option because imagine that that single topic grows a lot and you want to find a concrete city...it's rather annoying searching a particular pic among many pages, particularly because you can only go directly to the three first pages and to the three last ones...
IMO it's more simple to open a topic with the name of your city. :)

Beautiful pictures, dropot2! I love that medieval architecture. It gives a town such a vibrant atmosphere.

I'll see if I can borrow the digital camera of a roommate to take some pictures of my city.

Beautiful pictures, the place obviously has a great sense of history and culture. Makes Sydney look a (apart from the Harbour and parks) seem like a souless display village

It is normal. Mainly in South Europe most of the cities have been there since the Greeks, that means 5 or 6 centuries before Christ (Girona was founded more or less at this time). It's obvious that it's much easier for Girona or similar cities than some other places in the USA or Australia to have a sense of history and culture. And that's for a simple reason, if I'm not wrong (RC45, correct me please if it's not true), the first villages in America were built not before of XV th century, even later, so many cities in Europe has an advantage of over 15 centuries of history.
