Why the distinction/new title?? (Poll)

I'm not mad, angry or anything, but I've just seen the new "title":

"Download Group Member"

could this be a way to draw a line between the famous two groups of members here at JW?
and could it bring the download group members more PM's asking us how to download the vids or to help them?

why did you put this thing to our ranks?

There always have been 2 groups , one for the downloading club members that can download things from the vault , that is all .

I think it will only make bigger differences with all JW's members, more noticeable and not that kind of person that likes to "show of" the privileges of being in the group B

its basically Download/Upload member group ....
its not really a distincion ... cuz its like ... make yerself worthy or being in that group ... cuz if everyone could download vids ... no one would post .......

I think this is a good idea.

There's also another way to do something like this...

For instance: All the download group members could have their avatars in a
small gold frame.....or something like that.

Just a suggestion. I'm cool with things the way they are now...

Well, for instance this make it much easier for us to know who is in and who isn't.

Of course for 99% of the 200 or so members in that group I was able to tell even w/o the new second title, but this way it is easier when there are new potential members or new members.

Anyway antonio, everybody was always allowed to check out the group members from the start (link to "usergroups" at the top of the page), so the line was always there ;)

Well it looks a tad ugly at the moment i admit, but i can see the advantages for the admins, ultimately there are more important things to worry about in JW and life IMO :wink:

Because Jabba wanted it, also because as TT said it makes it easier for us, I can't speak for him but no way can I remember all dl group members off the top of my head

As for complaining how it looks well, it might change yet as its only just been added, but really its impossible to please everyone no matter what is done so one or two complaining is not really going to change anything in that respect... I think you'll find it ends up how Jabba wants it to look ;)

i think the Admins are sick of getting PM's on how to download videos, so they figured if new members knew who was in the club, they could also harass them for video links.

well anyway I thought of another way of implementing it that will look much nicer, unfortunately windows on my main system that I do all work from has just decided to take a crap so I cant change it for a few hours now until I backup some stuff and reinstall :(

I think its great to have this. Even if you do get PMs by the newbs... I think its better for one noob to piece one member thean to make many others furious by reading a new "how to download" thread. Not only that, but if someone asks for help and I see that they have a lable showing they are in the Dl group, I tend to be more helpful as I know they are not here only to take stuff away from others. Its sort of a "heads-up" for me showing that the member with that on their nick gives a damn about JW.

i think a more discreet logo/icon would be better. the current label puts too much emphasis on the downloading group. this website is much more that that ... to me anyway.

imo ... when a new member posts something ... 99% of the post made in tht topic is made by active ppl tht are members of the DL/UL club .... so when the new dude sees that all the posts are made by all the active ppl then he wouldnt feel like getting into the family ...... he'll be like .. ok guyz ya'll hang arround peace im out ...... and he'll be out ....

ok listen up, the title has disappeared from your view as some people decided it they didn't like it and thought that people were being singled out etc.. which of course is bullshit, the reason for the extra title was so admins can easily see who is in the group or not and add (or remove) people from that group as and when they deserved it.

anyway, I have just recoded the pages that show that title it so that now it's only visible to admins..
