This week's Auto Motor und Sport has pictures of the successor to the 456M GT. I tried to find the pictures for you on the net, but I didn't succeed. I can tell you one thing though: it looks absolutely fantastic. Much like the sketches we've seen before, but the rear looks more like the 575M Maranello. I had to get used to the headlights a little, but apart from that the car looks perfect IMO.
Too bad Ferrari messed up with the name again (612, probably stands for 6 litres 12 cylinders), but that's nothing new. Ever since the 206/240 and 308 etc they've a mess of it. The addition of 'Scaglietti' was a surprise to me. But on the other hand, as Ferrari's most important and renowned coachbuilder (just to name a few: 250 GTO, 500 Monza, 250 Testa Rossa) and personal friend to Enzo, it's not that surprising.
I'll keep looking for pictures. And if you can't wait, try and get your hands on Auto Motor und Sport.

The back & side of the car looks great but the front ... those headlights look dumb at first sight. I could be mistaken but this just doesn't catch me as much and like other ferrari's

the engine is the 575M's V12, tuned to make 540 hp. it's the 5748cc V12, not the Enzo's 6L V12. they rounded the 5.7 to 6 in the name.
persnally I don't like the interior. it's to much like the Enzo- the same air vents and there's a lcd screen.
ps. I'm now officially a light weight :)

Beautiful car, I'm sure it is!It's a Ferrari!
The interior sometimes reminds me of the Enzo, and there's a stability control...has to be turned off.
Weigths over 1800kgs...too much for me, but it's not intended as a sport car like the 360 for example.

It looks more like a Maserati than a real Ferari :)
Not bad IMO.. Front can be better but.. Interior is good..
And also it still owns a ferrari logo!

Look others, I think the front needs a bit of work too. However, the proportion and shape of the car is very nice as usual.
Wonder when it'll be featured on the Auto Motor und Sport show? 0X

Why even bother with a back seat if no one can fit in it?

Look at the pictures , dont you think it has some kind of similarity with the lines of the Maserati Quatroporte ?
I think ferrari is losing his design , from the modena , ferrari has come into another focus in design , i liked the old ones , like the 355 or the 328 , those cars looked gorgeous .
What do you think about it ?

welcome to the world of the front-engined GT I guess...I actually don't like this car much at all...the proportions are all a little bit funky. The cabin is set too far back from the front end of the car, the wheels are far too small for the wheelwells, the rear wheels look like they've been moved forward from where they should be as a result, and the car looks kind of like it's sitting on it's haunches (not athletic, not as if it's ready to pounce...more like it's squatting around a campfire), the rear end looks like they tried to cross 575 with 456 with Enzo and didn't come out too well as a result...it looks muddled. The way that the rear fenders flow roundly into the vertical face of the rear end of the car juxtaposed with the lip spoiler that is present on the boot, and with the Enzo's taillights dangling out in the open...it all looks rather silly to me. If they hadn't scalloped the side of the car it would look terribly slab-sided, and the front...the front looks like a Frog or a Fish, and the whole ordeal sits far too high above ground.
All the same, I'm sure it'll grow on me like the 550 grew on me, and I'll love it in a few years time. I certainly like the interior and the engine-compartment (except that it doesn't have a standard shifter on this particular model)

^^^ it does have a standart shifter and an F1 gearbox is optional.

I don't know about you guys, but I think Ferrari has to work on their designs, this and all current Ferraris (except the Enzo of course which is just a masterpiece, and the 550/550 Barchetta and 575M which I think are very classy looking cars) seem to have lost what excited me about them...
I'm not saying they're not beautiful, because I still believe Ferraris are the most beatiful cars on the face of this earth, but I happen to believe that the late 80's to mid 90's Ferraris are much better looking than the current ones...the F40, the 348, the 512(desing update to the legendary Testarossa), the 355 (the most beatuful contemporary Ferrari ever made...) are all prettier looking than the 360 or F50. I know the current desings may be more aerodinamically efficient, but they don't look as good as the ones I mentioned before.
In my opinion the 612 doesn't look that bad from the side, but the front needs lots of work, the grille is way too big and those headlights are too small. I really hope Ferrari reconsiders this design before saying go to it's production...
