Here's the story.
My friend caled me up and said I should come and see what has happened.
This is what I saw.

My friend and his buddy who owns this 5 series ( a young driver, his first car...) tried to do some drifting.....

The car is a heavy cow and the engine isn't the strongest either (523).
Wich isn't good. The weaker the engine is, the stronger you hve to push the car to start drifting....

Eeverything they did was wrong. They went drifting ( if we can call that drifting) downhill and they didn't have any free space on either side of the road in case anything would hapen.

Well, "anything" happened.

Here are the results.

Oh, the car is fine. Minor repair work needed. The guy is planing to sell the car and buy a used 3 series coupe....

well the turn seemed goodto drift, if ur good..., which doesnt apply to him.. but he also had bad luck... i mean there was grass on al that side just that hole right there and he HAD to fall in there!
but yea the car is big and all but its still a bmw... its easier to drift in a bimmer...
anyways it was just a cheap lesson learned, those r good if u thoink about it
get pics of the damage out of the ditch if u can
thanks

Hey, you got to learn somehow. You know what they say: Experience is proportional to quantity of destroyed tools.
Anyway: 3 coupe is better drifting car.

First of all I'm sorry for your friend car damage but without a lot of practise
of your car and especially this kind of car(BMW 523) you are not drifting in
those kind of roads!!Also what is the age of your friend.

He's 18 or 19, I think. He could be 20, but probably not.

Ronin005, I don't know about the costs, but since he knows the guy with the truck, I might have paid nothing....I just took the pics and left just as the towing service came....

that cant even be considered a hill! but anyways bad choice of places to learn to drift. rocks on the road equals loss of traction and it scares the shitake mushrooms out of you and you will screw up the drift either turning too little or too wide. in this case it would be turning too little.

wow, that looks rather bad. even if he might have deserved it, it still sucks to look at and think about.
