A bit unfair for E55 which is stock 476 bhp against the heavily modified
Lexus which is about 620+ bhp and much more lighter!!

Nice video, thanks man! I would choose the E55 over some modded ricer any day 8) One might wonder for how long that IS 300 will hold together.

Yeah, those ISs can really get very tuned. The straight six in it can really take a lot of hp....

I imagine it also might b lighter than the E55

ricer? i wouldnt exactly call that IS300 a ricer car especially with 600+hp and i also heard those engines are pretty strong

Yeah, I love IS300s! Pretty much any RWD car that you can Tune is alright in my books. lol. But these look decent, and seem to handle pretty well too, so ive got no probs with them.

2 people have mentioned about those is300 engines being strong/able to make horsepower.

The motor in it is either a 3sgte (4 cyl, Celica) or a Supra tt motor.

Cool vid, saw it a few weeks ago on another site...where there was some discussion about the hp figures quoted, 642rwhp seems like a lot for that IS300...but it is a Toyota motor. :D

LOL, why would they swap a 3SGTE into the IS300?!

Because thats what the lexus also comes with in Japan, a 2 liter turbocharged 4 cyinder. It is the performance car of the range.

You can get a lot more power out of the 3sgte than the N/A 6 cylinder.

from what i know the lexus came with the N/A supra motor.

Yea, but this car is in America...its an IS300, and its clearly NOT n/a.

Besides, the sporty Altezza has the 3SGE engine...not the 3SGTE, i.e. its not turbo-charged.

well its not N/A coz the guy turbo'd it himself,it comes from the factory with a 3 litre 6cyl engine......which as i said comes from a supra from what i know.they dont come turbo'd stock

Yea, I was trying to explain that it wasn't the Japanese version to the guy who thinks the car has a 3SGTE in it...but yes, it is most likely a 2JZGE with a turbo or a 2JZGTE that has been swapped in.

V-DUB power, great vid! I'm pretty sure it's a 2JZGTE instead of the 3SGTE, because the only reason they use the 3SGTE is for better power/weight and it gives a better center of gravity for the car, and this guy isn't autocrossing his car so it would be a waist of money to do that. The 2JZGTE swap is the cheapest(cheapest because it's more reliable and don't need to worry about internals) and most reliable way to go.
