the AWD is a nice lil feature. (as the snowshot proves :D )

and...not sure, but i don't think 3000GT is awd.

Awsome car dude, i haven't seen a GTO in ages! the one i use to see was very loud, and dominating on the road.

althoe i do see alot of FWD FTO's :(

^base model 3000GT isn't, but top level VR-4 is (and has 320bhp :twisted:)... same with its twin car the Dodge Stealth in R/T Turbo form...

Looking nice! I wanted to have a 3000gt 1999 VR-4 as many of JW users know. I couldnt find one red with black and with less than 20k miles so... I had to get G35. I wasnt happy with this decition at first, but once I got the G, wow I was happy. Someday, Ill buy a 3kgt I just LOVE it.

The leather re-trim is superb. It has been carried out by the company that trim the Mercedes SLR McClaren. In fact, using the same leather.

Topgeartom, as the two turbos are relatively small, the lag is not that not that great. But then, I have to admit, I'm not a professional driver, so what do I know ?

I'm afraid that I do not have vids of it in the snow, but hey, if we get snow here this year, you never know.....

The Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo is of the same spec as the American 3000GT VR-4. The GTO in japan only ever appeared in four guises. The Twin Turbo, Twin Turbo MR (Mitsubishi Racing), NA (Normally Aspirated) Manual & NA Auto. The MR was supposed to be a light weight version and I believe features such the All Wheel Steer, Electronic Controled Suspension and Active Aeros among other things were removed.

In the UK, 3000GT was only officially available in Twin Turbo form AFAIK and less than 1000 were sold.

So far only minor mods have been carried out. These include :-

Electronic De-restriction.
HKS Exhaust.
Open Air Filter.
Lightweight Flywheel.

All other work has been on the interior or non-performance enhancing.

Damn cool! Yeah the GTO is a rare sight, not sure why it isn't as popular of a typical JDM sportscar, I mean that GTO is faster than a lot of cars on the road and more sophisticated too, ah AWD :)

Love the interior and seats tasteful and stylish!

No major problems.

Repairs I've carried out so far :-

Clutch slave cylinder
Replacement Front Active Aero
Replacement Capacitors for ECU & Electronic Controlled Suspension.

Other than that just a major service which inlcuded Timing Belt, Tensioners, Water pump & thermostat & Oil Pump, then an Oil & Plug change every 4000 miles, Oil Filter & coolant change every 8000 miles.

You're right, the blue dials are not stock. I haven't finished fitting the complete set - the centre dials are still to go in.

We had a limited number made for the GTO Owners Club in the UK, by a company called SpeedHut.

After a few months of the GTO being off the road, it is back.

Back in May, the car had a slight incident in a pub car park, leaving it in this state:-

After organising the shipment of the parts required from the States with the help of a few good friends and few late evenings of hard work puting the front end together, this is the end result:-

I like the result and feel it was well worth the extra effort involved even if it did mean that the car was off the road for longer than expected.

The GTO TT is essentially the same as the 3000GT VR4, although being a Japanese (in fact all GTO's & 3000gt's are imported - the chassis were all manufactured in Japan and delivered to their country of sale to await completion with the correct components) import there are a few differences. Four models only - GTO Twin Turbo, GTO MR, GTO Non Turbo, GTO Auto Non Turbo. All have All Wheel Drive and four wheel steer with the exception of the MR, which has the four wheel steer removed to reduce it's weight.

The 3000gt did not sell particularly well here in the UK, which means it and the GTO are a fairly rare sight.

Just had the clutch replaced, with a slightly uprated one and a Fidanza lightweight flywheel - lets see how long it lasts. :lol:
