Well, a lot of people have been asking for this particular review so here it is. I have a subscription to TG magazine so i get it through my door before it is available on the shelves, and have a very large collection. I have all the magazines from episode 72 of September 1999 through to the current date.

And yes that is me stood next to them - the stack is waist high!

HOWEVER i don't currently have a scanner, so i have taken phots of the review with the enzo and mc12, so quality is anything from brilliant - i am not sure how much scanners cost, and to be quite honest i have things to buy with my limited cash that are more important.

**I am perfectly willing to photo any review you want from the episodes i have - just name the car (or the episode if possible, which will help me loads)**

Anyway, here is the review: *56K BEWARE*

You beat me to it tom :)

A quick tip... don't use the flash... i don't think you did, but use plenty of natural light (ther's not much around atm, i know)

Also.. does your cam have a close-up button, that will allow it to focus better on the page... it's a little flower symbol, and will give better results, cos i'm struggling to read some of it. The photography looks great, the pictures are amazing, and that lucky-as-fuck Tom Ford is driving an Enzo

thanks for the tips - i never use the flash, but as you say there isnt much light around - and if i had put direct lights on, there would have been a big sillhoutte of me holding a cam :D - i dont have a close up function - it just auto focuses itself, but it is not brilliant - if i was further away, and just zoomed into the picture - would that help?

Hmm.. i'm no expert... my Canon does pretty much everything by itself too

LOL - just noticed you called the topic "Top Gear episode 137"

Good review , perfect cars , i would have preferred that CLarkson reviewed em and the stig puts the mc12 to the track , then i would have been perfect !!

Thankx a lot !

Agree!!! Too bad they didn't feature the MC12 in the same episode with the Enzo!!! BTW, topgeartom, I also keep all the mags, since 1998, I have something close to 200 mags in my room... :D

coooool!! I have issues 61, 68 and then 72 onwards right up until 137 - the most recent. my earliest (61) i think is october 1998

After reading the article, I'm surprised. I was defenitely expecting the MC12 to be the more hard-edged car, considering it was developed solely for racing homologation. What you think?

HoboPie
01-05-2005, 02:55 AM
I thought so too, but it is a Maserati and I don't think the MC12 being ultra super hard edged would really differentiate it from the Enzo. Makes me wonder what an Enzo with a big wing would do in the FIA GT?

I heard that the successor to the 550/575 was set to get the MC12 engine...I don't find it possible considering the estimated price of that engine.

Tom Ford destroyed F. Mountain's Enzo

topgeartom
01-05-2005, 12:01 PM
no he didnt. Tom was with the MC12 waiting for him to turn up, when he got a calll from Frank saying that he had been side-swiped by a bus - frank was being driven in it by a friend cos he had recently had his license taken away.

I 've read that they used Nick Mson's Enzo . Is that right?

topgeartom
01-05-2005, 04:58 PM
yes - after the crash with Franks car - they were short of an Enzo for the cover shoot, so urgently had to find one - at 9:30 Franks car had been hit, and by 12:00 TG had a new Enzo for the shoot :D

Tom, that is quite a collection! I always wish I never threw mine out.

In the late eighties/early nineties I had a similar size collection of What Car? They were really handy when choosing my first few used cars and being able to refer back to the road tests - before the days of the internet of course!

You know what I am going to ask now - any Saab 9-3 (old shape, not the new SS) reviews, especially the revised '01 on model?

Ta!
