And what have u heard about the Alfa Romeo Crosswagon Q4. Ive read in various magz that its a very multisided car. It has classic Alfa Romeo styling/driving pleasure, it has off-road capabilities and it has a 4wd system with 70% back, and 30% front distribution in normal conditions. It has 150bhp from a 1.9 JTD engine. I like it. It kinda reminds me the Audi Allroad quattro.
Here r some pics.

does it have 4WD or AWD? because 4WD doesn't really do powerdistrubution like that it's pretty much 50/50 with 4WD.
if 4WD hell no
AWD maybe.

it looks good for a base but could use some improvements.

To be even more precise,at the heart of the Q4 four-wheel drive is the permanent four-wheel-drive system using three differentials.
The central differential, mechanical and self-locking (Torsen C), splits torque in optimal proportions over the front and rear wheels, resulting in superior handling: in acceleration, if the car is understeering, about 80% torque is transmitted to the rear wheels, thereby enhancing front wheel side grip; if the car tends to oversteer, instead, the proportion transmitted to the rear wheels is only 40%, which improves their lateral adherence.
The Q4 set-up, in fact, makes for dynamic drive distribution, whether you hit the gas pedal or release it, ensuring fail-safe grip.

Are you sure that this is an official definition, and not just one or two manufacturers way to use the expressions?
I like the car. It has Alfa looks, and I bet it has Alfa interior and charm. That's three great features. If the intelligent differentials work properly I guess it is nice to drive too. This kind of car suits me so much better than a SUV if I ever will need a car with more off-road capabilities than a normal family car.

i think typically 4WD applies to cars/trucks that have a part time 4WD system, which has a fixed front/rear power ratio. AWD is permanently on and can vary power front/rear with the center differential
so i guess that would make this AWD?

The Selespeed sux... It has 0 reliability. We'll see what the new gen. can do. Electric problems r common to the selespeed versions... But an engine problem.. Thats weird...
