rather funny, and for people who like this stuff you can listen to the song empty spaces by pink floyd (backwards, it is on the WALL) and it says somthing real clear in it.

i don't know if they did either, bad. there was a case with Ozzy back in the 80s of hidden messages talking a kid into suicide, but when they anlyzed the recoring, it turned out to be a freak accident of the pitch of the guitars combining with the drums to create the sound and no one realized it.

But in the case of Zeppelin, i think it may have been intentional, but as a joke since at that time every band was being accused of doing similar things. It's possible that with all the recordings of Stairway that are out there, thwrong one got picked for the Early/Latter days set since that site made no mention of the original album (VI [4])

**EDIT** now that i've clicked on the new link, i'm wondering how this shit is possible and just how many of my cds have hidden messages

that is very intresting,
in the case of the brintney spears one, i would seriousley put it down to subliminal msg's

i was reading a psycology thign stating that our brain's are capeable of understanding things backwards, at an unconcious level, and how the unconcious brain is very alert, and picks up alot of details, and only gives some of it to the concious brain.

just go out and read a book on subliminal messaging.

Does it work only in english? Is there any cases of reverse speech with some other language than english?

not sure, im not an expert on this, but i don't see how it could work on anylanuage that you're brain can understand..

there is also cases of songs (aparantley) having subliminal noises of people having sex, ect. so you're brain would probley hear it and like the song because of that noise.

a noise i have noticed in a few songs, that serves no knowen concious purpose is the sound of "ringing" like of a bell or something, quite stange i believe it mite be making the song seem better for me or something.. :S

but there was cases in the 1940's i believe during movies they would put 4 frames, lasting 1/20th of a second in the movie, for the latest drink or whatever, you're concious brain woulden't notice it but you're unconcious brain would, you would leave the cinema and go and buy that product, it aparantley worked wonders until it was made illigil.

 I provided the link and didn't know that, sorry
I'll listen few finnish songs backwards. Though it might be enough to read the lyrics backwards, cause Finnish is pronounced very closely like it is written.

Is there a player, that could play the mp3's backwards?

aparantley with some audio editing prog's it can be done.

this is really funny, i used to mess around with sound recorder all the time

Heres a game to play:

- record yourself saying your name on Windows sound recorder, and then reverse it. Play it back a couple of times when it is reversed, and then try to copy it.

Record yourself again saying your name backwards, and then reverse it again, and see how close it is to actually saying it normally. Obviously, the longer and more complex your name the harder it will be to say backwards - give it a go, it will keep you entertained for about..........ooo.......2 minutes!

That Britney song is a bit freaky though - the subliminal msg. thing is scary, i wouldnt put it past the big music companies - maybe this thread shoud go in the conspiracy theories section!

lol - yeah but when you say my surname as well it is much harder - and it is all about the pronunciation as well - you have to make sounds you never would usually, in order for it to come out right.
