Top Gear and the MC12

I read online that in the new issue of Top Gear Magazine they test drive the Maserati MC12, I was just wondering if they are ever gonna test it on the track, I know it is a fat chance but just wondering.

Yeh and if they did, they will release a trailer showing it at the start of the next series and make us wait months to see it on their track!

Maybe on their track because of different settings but not in general, it's less powerful because the ferrari/maserati group decided not to make it "the absolute rival" of the enzo ... well, I hope I'm not wrong :wink:

I think its faster and more powerfull than the enzo , and its not a rival since the 12 production units of the MC12 make the Enzo look like a mass produced car

It only has 624bhp, 0 to 60 in 3.7s and a top speed of 205mph (330km/h) so it's slightly slower but you probably don't even notice it

Yessir that is correct... And for a bit of useless info, only one was made in black, and I think ~4 were made in blue, and the rest were white.

yeah, there were 25 made (the minimum needed for homologation into GT racing). they're also gonna make more for 2007 (another 25). even though maser entered into GT racing this year, they don't get any points for it - only next year will they start earning points.

many manufacturers are very afraid they will dominate GT racing, as the MC12 racer is rediculously fast, and many barely consider the Stradale a road car.

The MC 12 is significantly faster around Fiorano than the Enzo. Even though it has less power (detuned also to make it more reliable for GT racing), the rest of the car is set up as a real racer.

It was actually tested against the Enzo in this month Top Gear magazine , lets just hope somebody can scan it

I'm not sure what the test says, but I don't think it is going to be much faster. I'm fairly certain the only Fiorano track times were set by the racecar not the Stradale version.

Of course that could be simply as not to piss of their Enzo customers.

Ok the MC12 ROAD VERSION im almost postive is not as fast as the Enzo straightline track corners everything. But if your comparing the Enzo to the Race version of the MC12 then obviosuly the MC12 will destroy the Enzo thats such a stupid question to ask.

There's another thread of ppl wanting the scans.... including myself. I really hope someone can do it - should be an awesome comparision.

dont bother - ive just done it - 5MP :D

it is by no means perfect but it will have to do
